Help with a non ICANN domain registrar

I have pharmacy domains registered with namecheap. Well, I received an email the other day stating they are going to suspend my domains if I don't get them approved through a site called legitscript.com. Where can I safely transfer my domains?

TIA

GoDaddy, unless this is some regulation I am unfamiliar with. Never heard of them before.

I've heard through the pharmacy community that GoDaddy pulls your domains without warning. At least I was informed by Namecheap what is going to happen. If you have pharmacy domains with them. Better start looking elsewhere. Here's the email.

Hello,

The web site(s) hosted on the domain name(s) indicated below has been identified by a third-party, LegitScript (http://www.legitscript.com/) as violating the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. To view a detailed report, please visit: http://www.legitscript.com/pharmacies/finder and enter your domain name.

Domain Name(s):
---Removed-----

In order to continue providing registration services for these domain names, you must take steps to have these domains removed from the LegitScript database of violators.

There is a 10-business-day remedy period in which violations indicated by LegitScript can be remedied and the domains removed from the database. This period expires on Saturday, October 30 at 12:00AM PDT

However, if your domain name(s) is not removed from the LegitScript database within 10 business days, we will be forced to suspend the domain name(s) until such time that they are removed from the database.

After the allotted 10-day remedy period, a transfer to another registrar will not be possible until the issues raised by LegitScript are resolved.

We request your immediate attention to this matter. Contact LegitScript at http://www.legitscript.com/ to arrange a removal from the LegitScript database.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

I came back because I noticed you wanted non-ICANN, also because I visited the site. Seems like a reasonable request if you are legit.

I guess this is a problem?

Most definately a problem. :)

They don't allow affiliated websites. You have to be the the direct link in order to get approved through them.

I have a 7 year customer base with some of the domains in question. Sigh.

There was a long discussion regarding this topic at NP the other week ... even for long-timers, it's an eye opener!

http://www.namepros.com/warnings-and...ins-based.html

NameCheap is mostly an eNom reseller - when eNom suspends the domain, they will place it on client-hold, which is more extreme than just locking the domain - will be removed from TLD zone file, it won't resolve, and it won't transfer out.

The clock is running - check out NameScout - you may have some success there. Reason is that some registrars don't participate in LegitScript's suspension program.

eNom has gone from middle-of-the road, safety wise, to among the most risky - they suspend domains, often voluntarily with no court order, for all sorts of reasons.
