It does seem weird seeing the sun set at 5:30. The good thing is it will be light when my son gets on the bus tomorrow. I don't mind the shorter days. It makes it feel like x-mas is just around the corner.

Jim_Gunn 11-07-2010 06:05 PM

I HATE it! I am not up at 5 am, 6 am, 7 am or whatever unholy hour the sun rises. But I am always up and awake between 5 pm-8 pm or thereabouts when the sun normally sets. The loss of an hour makes it go dark earlier in the day so us content producers lose an extra hour of daylight on top of the already shortened days that occur naturally as we get closer to the winter solistice. Sucks even when one is filming indoors since I like to use natural light from windows too.

I looked at the clock 13 minutes ago thinking it must be midnight.

It was 8:47 PM.

andrew1009 11-07-2010 08:11 PM

I don't usually wake up till like 3-4pm - sometimes later. During the winter months I can go weeks without seeing the sunlight.

Most of the daylight I get is before bed lol...

Spunky 11-07-2010 08:15 PM

A extra hour of sleep is a good thing

Yea, daylight savings made sense in 1900's! This shit is fuckin up phones and things, myself included, that can't adjust for nonsense...

czarina 11-07-2010 08:17 PM

It never affects me. I guess my brain is hardwired to wake up at 6am no matter what season it is. It's kind of weird, but every morning I open my eyes exactly at 6am (we dont even own an alarm clock), and the night the time changed I overslept 1 hour and woke up EXACTLY at 6am!

ottopottomouse 11-08-2010 04:47 AM

Haven't worn a watch for nearly 20 years now and don't really do anything at a set time so it doesn't really matter much to me.

Slick 11-08-2010 06:20 AM

Yeah, my body was looking at the clock at 6am wondering why the hell I'm not getting out of bed yet, ha ha.

it's mess with my mind, i am sick of time change

BlackCrayon 11-08-2010 07:06 AM

well you can't have kids walking to school in the dark but beyond that, its useless and i hate it too.

cwd 11-08-2010 07:49 AM

It serves no purpose, daylight savings is a scam.

Grapesoda 11-08-2010 07:51 AM

'time' has no influence in my life, nor days of the week or month... get up at 4am work all day and go to bed... rinse and repeat. the only 'time' value I am concerned with is position of the sun in relation to photography... models show up when models show up

I have production schedules is about it... other than that time is irrelevant to me as well.

quiet 11-08-2010 07:53 AM

jeez, don't any of you travel frequently? time zone changes are part of my regular routine. one hour is nothing.

I agree, I use ''ambient' as my 3rd light in production... and yes rainy days suck as well but not as bad as partly cloudy days :winkwink: :1orglaugh

I don't go out of my time zone, I don't fly so I stay on the East coast where I can drive.

:winkwink:

why don't you fly? just don't like planes? if you ever change your mind (which i think you should, because there is so much to see in the world) the first time you switch continents, it will take some adjustment. but you get used to it.

When I was younger I flew all over the place, Last time I flew Philly to Vegas and the whole getting on and off the flight, the searches and bull shit just made me make up my mind that I wasn't ever going to do that.

I know that might sound so dumb to most people but I'm just not going to fly.

_Richard_ 11-08-2010 09:52 AM

shouldn't we be 'springing' ahead for the fall 'daylightsavingstimes'? doesn't that make more sense?

Yo Adrian 11-08-2010 09:55 AM

First year back in AZ and I didn't even realize the time changed until now. It's so nice not having to change our clocks.
