I'm teaching my son to cut and paste

he is 5 years old and loves computers, so today I began teaching him to copy, cut and paste. He was so excited! We practiced on an elevatedx integration I was working on (mainsteam, dont get your panties in a bunch yet), and he was very proud of being able to help his mommy!
so if your elevatedx integration has some elements repeated, now you know why hahaha!

czarina 11-15-2010 02:02 PM

this is him, (outside a restaurant in Cancun, Mexico):

that's funny, I thought you had a client who's ElevX project you should have been working on exclusively since last week (and no, it's not mainstream)

AzteK 11-15-2010 02:11 PM

I'm glad to see he's catching up to fatfoo.

RuthB 11-15-2010 02:13 PM

gotta love teaching kids new things. They're so happy and excited when they 'get it', it's really great!

do you live in Cancun czarina?

I'm your paying customer who is waiting for the work to get finished while you're having fun chatting on boards.

REALLY? what's the domain name that I'm working on? and for your information, whoever you are, I'm not late on any projects.

tabasco 11-15-2010 02:22 PM

When I was a boy we cut and pasted with scissors and glue. We didn't have any fancy internets in those days

Noe 11-15-2010 02:23 PM

Thats awesome!:thumbsup

ottopottomouse 11-15-2010 02:30 PM

Can you learn him how to resize pics next?

John-ACWM 11-15-2010 02:33 PM

You could try checking your schedule and see who's project you are supposed to be working on right now.

I'm not saying you're late or not late, but since you dont work on weekends, i was kind of expecting you to actually pay full attention to it during week days, instead of chatting on boards, teaching your kid to design and supposedly working on someone else's mainstream project.

seeandsee 11-15-2010 02:35 PM

i played Mafia 2010 few minutes ago, give him games :D

LeRoy 11-15-2010 02:37 PM

My 3 year old girl has a thing for cutting everything into little pieces.

I'm picking up scraps all over.

Rochard 11-15-2010 02:40 PM

My ten year old kid fixed her school's network a few weeks ago. It seems the Internet wasn't working and was down for a few hours and they couldn't figure it out. She told them to reboot the main router because "that always works at home". Sure enough, it did.

Kids are growing up in a vastly different world than we did. Fixing computer problems will be common knowledge for them.

But didn't you hear about the black hole? NASA knows its age!

Oh, and yeah, you shouldn't treat people like that. Trust me, it's not going to get your work done any faster, or with any better quality. If anything, it's the opposite.

Treat like what? :error

Dude, i'm a client who is paying the contractor for work. Am i wrong to expect the designer/developer to work on my stuff during business hours? Especially when it's a huge project and supposedly should be worked on exclusively?

C'mon, have some business sense.

pOrRiDgE 11-15-2010 03:10 PM

What the fuck is wrong with YOU?

StinkyPink 11-15-2010 03:12 PM

Give this vano dude his money back already. I wouldn't do shit for him.

czarina 11-15-2010 03:12 PM

Vano: I do not work exclusively for ANYONE. If you are truly my client, you know that already. Again, what is your domain?
Feel free to email me:
info[at]wedesig.net
and let's see what you really have to say about my work and my schedule.

What? Do you really think she's going to jump up now, and think to herself, "OMG! He's angry at me, I'll get working on him right away!". Probably not.

I don't know her, so can't say. But if anything, there's a good chance it's more along the lines of, "what a dick, bitching about me in public like that. I'll work on my other clients who know how to treat people properly, and will take care of him whenever I get around to it.".

gimme-website 11-15-2010 03:13 PM

Posting pix of your kid on a famous adult webmaster board called gofuckyourself.
Great decision...

Machete_ 11-15-2010 03:15 PM

i can sense the banhammer in motion

:Oh crap

myneid 11-15-2010 03:19 PM

oh man czarina thats great.
my 5 year old i cannot get off the computer but i'll be damned if he will let me teach him anything, let alone cut and paste. even when he asks for help when i start he tells me not to help after a few minutes.

czarina 11-15-2010 03:22 PM

hi Tanguy! Actually my son went thru a stage like that about a year ago, so I had given up on teaching him anything. Today, all of a sudden he asked me to let him help me work, so I decided to start teaching him again.
Your kid will outgrow the "I know more than you" stage; I'm sure he'll become a great programmer just like his daddy :)

So when a person should be working exclusively for you, does that mean 24/7? How do you know she didn't work on your project for eight hours during a 24 hour day and used her "off time" to do something else?

I'm guessing you haven't used many contractors before.

czarina 11-15-2010 03:25 PM

Apparently he is not my client. I'm currently working on only 3 elevatedx projects and all 3 clients are sweethearts. This is just someone trying to start trouble.

Davy 11-15-2010 03:34 PM

Maybe he is mistaking you for somebody else?

Phoenix 11-15-2010 06:15 PM

when i first saw the thread i was going to post something funny like

now hes a designer....and put jk etc

but now there is too much drama in here..lol

hope you are well czarina

exactly..
You pay for the job, and agree on a deadline... They can goof off as much as they'd like unless you paid them to work exclusively on your project... as long as they get the job done on time....
now, if she was late, I'd understand..
