Any Full Metal Jacket Fans here? new twist!

Ok, this may or may not be new, but I seen it for the first time and nearly pissed myself laughing. lmao I love Full Metal Jacket, one of my favorite movies.

I love the War Face about 1:15 into it.

I have NO idea how to make the damn thing play in this thread. So just watch it already...... lmao

LeRoy 11-19-2010 01:30 PM

You do it like this:

Type: [ youtube ]

Then copy and paste in only the part of the youtube link which FOLLOWS the first = sign, so that it looks like this:

looks like this:

[ youtube ]3woEDTUbDYg

Then you close it with:

[ /youtube ]

Or you can just enter the entire youtube link and backspace out everything before the FIRST = sign.

But take out the spaces between the brackets and the word "youtube" and between the bracket and forward slash and the word youtobe and the last bracket which I put in so you could see how it works. Had I not put in the spaces, an empty box would have shown up.

Hit the quote button up top, change the word quote to youtube in both brackets, paste the video ID (not the url) in between the two brackets.

[youtube(])videoID[/youtube(])

Remove all ( and ) above.

Funny, I watched that movie again last night. My boot camp experience was a lot like that, except no drill instructors died during mine. That was back before they supposedly made boot camp a kinder gentler experience.

We had a total fuckup that ended up getting that same kind of blanket party, we had another kid from Boston who cried himself to sleep every night while insisting that he wasn't supposed to be there. He eventually cracked up, and ended up carted away in a catatonic state.
One difference was nobody was called a different name by the drill instructor. We were all Private Willie.
In the movie, all the recruits had their rifles in bed with them. In our situation, we had to go to the armory in the morning, check out our rifle, then take it back that night unless we were on sort of overnight duty.
Some parts of boot were hell, and other parts were fun as hell.

rock-reed 11-20-2010 03:40 AM

I rather enjoyed that.

BlackCrayon 11-20-2010 06:43 AM

I had all kinds of family in all kinds of military and the one I remember most was the step brother I had in the Marines... he'd tell us some of the most horrifying stories and on the flip side, some of the funniest ones. A lot of them sounded a great deal like what went on in this movie. lol

fatfoo 11-20-2010 09:35 AM

They sure talk with funny voices.

mikeet 11-20-2010 10:06 AM

my senior DI was from brooklyn and had a horrible accent so he made up names for guys he couldn't pronounce. one polish kid's name was so fucked up he called him "private alphabet".

i was in boot camp in the summer of 86' and back then we used a cable through the magazine well to secure the upper and lower receiver to our racks.

Chezter 11-23-2010 07:45 AM

It was my most favorite movie for long time, still is among top 3. This is my favorite scene.
