Great Ideas In Online Adult Few Sponsors Use Even As Their Business Fails
Some of you guys make it so hard to promote your programs. Whenever i start a new site it takes me a few hours to find the content/tools i need. Here is a list of great ideas that some companies do but most dont.
API posting Or real whitelabels for paysites: To be honest 90% of tours suck. Surfer know that you get a few previews then if you click the see more link enough times you will go to the join page. Only a few companies allow either api posting or real whitelabels of paysites. I have a reason why this will convert better I have studied it. But not just that, I think any multi site program should have option because to be quite honest most tours stink. Domain Parking: Or some sort of suitable alternative. Should be self explanatory, almost every webmaster has undeveloped domains that get search traffic but are being under utilized. Again any multi site program should have this. Will your bandwidth bill go up? Sure but some surfers will discover niche sites they never would have found, and Webmasters and programs will make passive sales they would not have made. I would even push discounted membership this way. Quality RSS Feeds: Been discussed. Im not even refering to quality morphng rss, which is even better. Many programs do really well with this some dont have a clue. I suspect that the ones who do well have bloggers on their staff while the ones who dont, dont have them. Quality Sponsor Hosted Tube: Many are doing better at this. But if you have a ton of content, copy the biggest tubes features and scripts, only use your content and add your ref link to it. I would rather see that traffic go to a program than to an illegal tube. Tools for blogs or wordpress: Omg there is a blogging thread on the front page everyday at the biggest adult webmaster forum yet still its so hard to find banners, embedded clips and stuff you can use to promote a sponsor on your blog. Im sure there are more these come from top of my head. Some are expensive and not easy to implement but others could happen pretty easy. *disclaimer* Im in no way bashing anyone who doesnt have whats on this list. |
their problem goes deeper then that im afraid.
join any paysite you want, 60% of them dont have any content in there...they can call it exclusive but if there are only a few dvds worth of content the member wont stay you need more content then the tubes have, and then people will stay...and thus it is then worth it to spend money on tools again |
when the dust settles there will be a handful of megasites loaded with content that where the majority of the joins will go and scattered on the fringes some amateur types who do it for the love of it and sites that are more about creative card billing than porn. it's like watching the air go out of a balloon in slow motion.

The best performing affiliates ask for very little, if anything. :2 cents:

It's tough to allow api etc for the signups, since I can promise the world and not deliver which results in chargebacks. Or I could use photos I dont own the rights to etc.

Using the same tools everyone else has puts you at a disadvantage right out of the gate. |
There are many problems with all the tools given to affiliates.
1. Once one person does, and it works, it they all do it and any advantage gained is lost. Look at most tools used and you see 1,000s of sponsors giving them out like candy. 2. Most of them involve giving surfers more free porn. On top of all the free porn they already have. 3. The effectiveness of most tools rely on the content in the tool to motivate a surfer to click a link. Great tools + lots of them + poor content = bad sales. 4. They all cost money. Taking more money out of a sponsors bottom line. It was affordable 3 years ago. For some today it's getting un-affordable to maintain great tools, lots of affiliates and a great site. And without a great site why should a surfer become a member and stay a member. Because you showed him some content doesn't cut it in 2010. |
Its not the tools, Its the Affiliate. :pimp

Your analogy is a silly one and that kind of thinking is why you ARE on your way to work doing something other than this. Here is what you're really doing. You get hired to work as a roofer. you show up on day one with no tools and demand I supply them even though you have zero experience as a roofer you demand tools you don't even know how to properly use. Then you start demanding tools that you'll never even use as a roofer. as the day goes on, you constantly ask me the most simple questions about how to do your job, interfering with MY work and accomplishing nothing on your own. At the end of the day, you demand that I start supplying you with a truck or you'll take all of your new tools and go work for someone else. Smart roofers now don't bother to hire you unless you bring your own tools and show you have a clue about what you're doing.:thumbsup you see son, you were right when you told Steve times are changing. You just don't realize that they are changing for you, not us. affiliates are getting smarter and the dumb ones are getting squeezed out. When there where a bunch of dumb program owners, there was a small window of time where they all chased after dumb affiliates who wanted to be spoon fed. Those days are over. adapt or die. |
