Am i correct in thinking that this software sniffs out forums and open blogs then gives you the list so you can post on them yourself? the only automated part being the finding of forums?

Yes, it does find out forums & blogs (automatic).

And then it finds out the high PR innerpages (automatic), where your backlinks are postable (manually).
