I have a contact at a prominent company in the industry that might have interest in something like that, but sorry to say that's a pretty weak finder's fee. Less than 1% for helping you get 10-20%? No thanks.

This is clearly just an asking price. The actual price it will sell for could certainly be less....or more! The numbers I am referencing are profit numbers, not revenue.

Value is a very relative term. Sometimes sites sell for 12 months profit while others sell for over 36 months profit. All depends on the actual business.

If you actually have someone who has an interest in purchasing sites like these, why not try and make an extra buck to simply refer someone rather than shooting down the opportunity to do so?

If he has the know-how to generate 700k a year in ad sales, then he has more contacts then most people, and already knows the buyers.

Only a handful of people can/would buy such a large network.

And agreed, 10k to sell a (possible) million dollar plus business is pretty weak.

This is a company. A network of sites.

I sold a mediabroker company last year for just around 11 x yearly profit.

Here we are only talking about two years profit.

Unless there's a ton of lawsuits or other things that increase risks two years profit is cheap.

Now when we are talking a small stupid blog, it is fine that it sells for 5-8 months revenue, however this is different.

If he already knew the buyers, he would not have came to me.

If he wanted to sell it publicly, you would all already know the name.

I am not asking anyone to do my job for me. I am also not really sure why there is so much animosity amongst you guys. I am new to the adult space, so rather than cold calling the likes of Naughty America, I thought to post here and test the waters. A finder's fee is just that. It is not for selling the website. Formulating a prospectus, handling due diligence, putting together a purchase agreement, handling closing, answering buyer questions, etc.... are all things that need to be done to get the site sold.

Let's try something different. If you know someone that has the money to do something like this, message me and tell me how much you would want to just provide me the name. This way, you guys are the ones who can be unreasonable and ask for $50K to simply refer a name and do nothing else at all.
