member section storing content on different servers?
So from another post I made here I was asking about orginizing structure for a high load porn site/server and i come to learn that what people do is make sub domains, which are actually pointed at a different server, and serve files from there.. such as all picture from my site site.com are served from images.site.com and maybe all video content served from videos.site.com which both are different servers than, site.com.
now my question is this, what about the members section? members.site.com is one server, now how do i store content on other servers which are intended to be served to/through members.site.com which is protected via htaccess/ccbill. im sure by logging into members.site.com there could be some script written that will also log the user into the servers which serve the content. but i dont want to over do it, is this in fact how its down for members/password protected directories? By splitting content between different servers to lesson the load how do the pros do this for the members section.. non members section this is very easy because theres no credentials involved.. Thanks everyone! |
