Business Plan Financial Projections

I'm putting together a business plan for a prospective partner to start up an adult site. I plan on doing things the "right way". Starting small with a free site and links for affilate programs to build traffic and growing slowly from there. I have access to someone who will provide me with exclusive content down the road. However, what I dont have, and havent been able to find anywhere, are estimates of revenues that could be generated from the different models. If anyone could provide me with some realistic figures it would be greatly appreciated.

That is extremely hard without total transparency of what you are going to do.

I'd like to keep it simple at first. I understand theres a lot of variables and some folks may not get 5,000 hits for 2 years. But I'm hoping if I do things right I can be more successful.

So lets says a typical tgp site for a moderately popular niche like "group" or "orgy". I know the affilate programs pay around $30 or so per sign-up but is there any payment for simple "click thrus" or is it only for the sign-ups? And what do they typically pay on renewals?

Also, assuming decent SEO, how long should I anticipate it taking for traffic to reach certain levels? Is 6 months to get to 5,000 hits per day overly optimistic or pessimistic?

Finally, what can be expected in terms of the ratio of hits to sig-ups? Theres gotta be some statistics that show whether 1 out of every 1,000 hits result in a sign-up or whether its 1 in every 5,000.

You can sell your traffic by using services like juicy ads, and plugrush which will pay you for different kinds of traffic, or ad impressions. If you want to get paid for renewels, you will have to use a revshare option, instead of pay per sale, which will, depending on the sponsor, give you around 50%-70% of the sign up for as long as your conversion keeps their membership.

The amount of time it takes to reach 5K daily uniques will depend on the keywords you target, but, if you do your research, you should be able to get 5K daily hits in less than six months.

Your conversion ratio will also depend on many things...The type of traffic you are sending, the type of site you have, the content you are using to promote your site etc...It can range anywhere from 1:100 to 1:100,000

It's hard to give you specific information without knowing your plan. I can help you get started with your first site if you'd like. Hit me up at lunaticpics[at]yahoo[dot]com

lo0ni hit the nail here.

But you can get to 40K daily hits in a month if you hire someone who knows what they are doing. But it'll cost you

If are starting out with a basic tube, blog, or other free site then I don't really think you need to a hire a programmer; unless you are planning something unique. I'm not a programmer so I couldn't help you with any type of coding, but if you do need help with simple things such as SEO advice, or help with a script installation...I can help you with that; free of charge, of course.

lo0ni is this your experience if not can you let where you get some that hard data. I am working on a business plan and man is it hard to get any authentic data. I think some of the data that I am able to find is inflated. So any projections are really a shot in the dark.

Are you talking about the conversion ratio data I gave?

If so, yes, the data is from personal experience. I have had ratios as low as 1:100, and as high as 1:100K. Currently I am seeing ratios of 0:20,000 for one sponsor. I have spoken with other webmasters who have similar results. You can also take a look at the posted stats of some of the webmasters on this board, and compare them with your own.

My point was that there are several factors which can affect your conversions, and that they can be insanely low, or vice versa.
