What do the big guys use?

Up until now, I've been using a lower end DSLR for both my stills and video. I'm satisfied with my photos but the video aspect leaves a lot to be desired, even with the right lighting. It does shoot in 1080p, but I'm beginning to feel like my quality is from 2008.
My question is what do the big producers like Reality Kings or, particularly, who ever produces Passion HD use for filming? Are most of them just using high end DSLRs like the 5d Mark 3 or do they use broadcast cameras?

5D range, 7D, L series glass, but most important is the lighting.

Is the 7d comparable as far as sharpness?

Aside from the obvious focal length and DOF differences due to sensor size, you'd really have to nitpick to tell a 5D mk anything apart from a 7D once you encode it.

Thanks for the info Yea, I have no problem shooting with a crop sensor's focal lengths and low light noise performance is only a minor issue for me since I use studio lighting. My only real concern is sharpness, so that's good to know.

I use a D5100 its a crop sensor but I put the full frame Nikkor glass on and I am putting out 1080p video. Just ensure to get a steady cam.
