Intro Questions

So as my nickname may suggest, I am a university student studying computer science. I am generally rather busy as I work as a software developer full-time as well. I have also worked at a web hosting company as a system administrator (all of freshman year). I am very comfortable with making and managing websites.
I am very interested in making a business, and the porn industry seems to be one which has greater potential for entry from someone who doesn't have pockets lined with gold.

I am very interested in getting in the business as a website owner. I think one of the main questions I have is where to get content. Is it possible to get any free promo videos? I notice many sites which do things like show short videos produced by big name companies, then provide links to purchase the rest. How could I go about arranging such an agreement.

That seems like the most important thing for me to find out; however it is always possible I am missing something. The hardest things to learn are the things you don't know you don't know. If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to throw them at me.

Thanks

your looking for adult sponsors. they are pretty easy to find, the problem is there is so many - it depends on what your looking for.

spinning rss feeds?
good teaser videos?
free sign ups?

check out nastydollars.com as an example. they are my fav as they have animated banners that look the best (I like the amateur/self shot /girlfriend type niches) - you create an account fill in your details so you can get paid, they usually have promo content and all kinds of banners, pop-unders, etc.

you send hits/leads and you get cash for it. you can get paid per sign up, rev share, etc.

rabbitsreviews.com/sponsorlist.aspx has an ok list.

I hope that helps :D

defunk is 100% right, the biggest question is actually what type of site/niche/area of the business you want to promote, from there it's simply a matter of narrowing down which sponsor or sponsors you want to use, and those sponsors will provide you with promotional content

as far as choosing a niche, I'd suggest choosing something that you understand and are into yourself, or at the very least an area that interests you. The more you know your product the more you can address your traffic in compelling and effective ways

alongside the sites mentioned above, signbucks.com has a large list of sponsors sorted by category

good luck and welcome to gfy

1) Sign up to affiliate programs. You can start with the most popular ones, or the ones you like.

2) Get accounts at ad networks, like:
a) Ero Advertising
b) Exoclick
c) Traffic Shop
d) Plugrush
e) Juicy Ads

3) Sign up and sell / redirect mobile traffic to Sex Goes Mobile

4) You can work on these types of sites:
a) Blogs (use Wordpress)
b) TGP (Smart Thumbs is a good program), these types of sites are generally out of date, but they are still useful, I think
c) Pinterest clone websites (check out something like http://PinMeScript.com)
d) Tube sites (Smart Tube Pro and Mech Bunny are the best programs for this, you can also try AVS)

4) Learn / read about SEO / Adult SEO

5) For traffic trading you can use Trade Pulse or Arrow Scripts

If you need hosting (any type / level) Micfo is the best way to go.

The above is great advice, but don't forget to check out the buy/sell forum here as well - you might be able to pick up some content to get you started.
