I always hear people talk about white label products and sites, what are they?

A white-label product or service is a product or service produced by one company (the producer) that other companies (the marketers) rebrand to make it appear as if they made it.</fatfoo>

Do you have examples of white label products in the internet marketing world?

No sale, they're provided free of charge by an affiliate program. The webmaster supplies the domain.

What's point for an affiliate to promote a white label site, if the affiliate is only limited to rebranding the site/product? Wouldn't be better for testing if they can change everything?

Yes it's always better to have unique content on your site.

Many WL's did rank well in Google but have recently been penalized for duplicate and thin content. It's probably not beneficial to use them for SEO anymore, unless you already have an established brand.

If you are in it for short term then maybe you see better results from promoting their own site directly over a white label as there is a higher trust factor associated with a large brand. If you are in this for the long haul and have a decent domain and decent logo a white label can work over time. The advantage over time is people are bookmarking your domain name/brand. If a white label partnership doesn't work out then your domain will still have all the previous traffic so a simple switch to another brand and your back in business. I currently have around 40 white labels, mostly adult but a few mainstream ones as well.
