Which operating system to use on a server.
Hi guys!
I'm looking to take a vps server but not sure exactly which one is the best operating system to use? Debian 7.0 Ubuntu 14.04 CentOS 6.4 Fedora 20 Scientific Linux 6.4 Slackware 13.37 According to what BuyVM offer me. Also do you know if ZPanelCP is the best free hosting program or others one exist? Thanks!

Can you tell us what you do with the server, do you need cPanel, are you converting/streaming videos etc.
But with CentOS 6 you should be fine for all kinds of sites. |

With this server I wiil probably make adult blog with WordPress or run a TGP but I know TGP it's now old stuff. Probably blog will be better! For now probably no streaming videos that much.
For cPanel probably not, I can install ZpanelCP. Regards!

CentOS 6.5 is my pick for stability right now.
I didnt like Zpanel , I am using webmin on all my servers I would not get a VPS, for a lil more you may be able to get into an inexpensive server |

Definately CentOS. Its the best and stablest. We use it with ZPanel modified. Its nearly a CPanel.
If you look for a server, you can shoot me a message. Otherwise I have one of the best server admins. He can install you everything. He is one of the developers of ZPanel. If you run only Wordpress on the server, its possible to make a CentOS Wordpress Server. There is no need for a controlpanel. The WP will be superfast with this!

if you have a good hosting company you can install any OS with just a click of a button. As for using a free hosting panel i would choose between webuzo and zpanel. Webuzo has access to several different web server and mail options and a lot of other options.
