what's a good backlink strategy?

As the title says, what is a good backlink strategy for adult sites these days?.
With the latest google updates, some people even say guest comments are not effective anymore.

Earn them organically.

This wasn't received well as it cut deep. It's a wake up call IMHO.

The end of link penalty removals

[I] stopped thinking about links a long time ago while I was at a prior agency job. My team and I would do the technical SEO, the creative and the publicity ? and the best links would come naturally by themselves. I would not actively track links except for periodic checkups to make sure that competitors were not pointing spammy backlinks at our clients. It happens ? one time, I saw a lot of link spam directed at a website with anchor text that was stuffed with keywords relating to prescription drugs. I disavowed them.

But except in that specific circumstance, I want to live in a world where link audits, link-removal software, and the Google Disavow Tool are no longer needed. For one reason, I feel bad for our collective clients. Many of us spent years making money recommending for and then building bad, artificial links ? and now we're making money to remove them. But for the most part, I want to be in an industry where we no longer build links ? or even specifically think about them in general.

If you do real, bona fide publicity, then you'll never, ever have to worry about Google Penguin penalties. ...

One of the best backlinks is a high quality guest POST on a high PR blog. Hard to find and lots of work to write but Google likes those types of links.

If your site(s) is a long term project, use only, I mean ONLY, white hat techniques. It takes time and lots of work, but eventually it will pay off.
Don't do spammy stuff, don't use any kinds of software, don't hire a company that says it will place link to your site to 1000+ blogs and such. The last thing you want is that Google and other search engines hurt your site and it's an extremely long way to get back on track after being penalized (sometimes it is better to start all over again).
Build links slowly and steadily.

That's what I'm doing. I've always avoided those so called automated seo programs.
Link building is very slow for an adult site. Comments are moderated and not everyone will accept a comment with an adult link no matter how good that comment may be. I also try to track my competitiors' backlinks to gain some improvements.
Exchanging links is another pain. Many sites require a minimum PR, which is no longer updated by G, to exchane links. So you end up exchanging links short-lived sites that add no value at all to your site.

Perhaps the best backlinking strategy is to build a strong persona for yourself and business. Authority and following the psychological rule of "know, like, trust"

be everywhere your target audience shows up, and provide valuable content, solve their problems

Think of your business as a strong oak tree. what would a tree do, to grow, withstand strong winds, and produce more fruits?

It would grow new branches. There would be new leafs to gather carbon dioxide and create a process called photosynthesis.

new branches, new ways to be stronger and dominate the space. in business it would mean more traffic channels, and greater authority, built exponentially.

Some good advices here. One final question. Do you use any software to find blogs/sites to comment on?. I'm thinking about using something like scrapebox to find some decent blogs/sites and then do the commenting manually.

Yes. scrapebox is the best tool to find backlinks. Find backlinks with footprints.

You can use scrapebox in a whitehat way.

For sites I've had in the past, I use to use it to scrape keywoards, then scrape sites. Using IPs of course. Otherwise when you go to google the next time, it'll be all "WOAH THERE BRO!". Never forget to check that little box!

Anyway, then use their plugins. Shorten the links to the actual domain name.

Scan to check the sites for Malware.

Scan to check if they're still active (So you aren't wasting your time)

Scan to make sure they're follow through links.

and then check their PR. Take the ones that have a PR you're happy with, and put them into a notepad. Go through each website, search for content you want to comment on, and leave a comment here and there. Even sign up. It's got some manual work, but with Scrapebox, it makes it easier.

Don't comment on all the posts at one, place one comment here, and one there. Take note of what you comment on, and keep the domains so you can go back and comment on more content, and track to see if they're keeping your links up.

Maybe dumb question here, but that's what I'm good at lol.
What exactly (details pls) makes a site valuable as for a site for quality back links worth paying for?

tres001: That's blackhat. Because the people didn't give you their address. It would be considered spam, and you would have to, by law, give them the option to unsubscribe. But even so, they could report wherever the email came from, even your own web hosting account, and you could loose it.

Most people would just delete emails they didn't subscribe to. I know I do. But I haven't actually done the email scraping before, so I don't know what results it would show. I just know the kind of trouble you could face.

lollipopx: I think it's mostly page rank and keyboards.
The page rank is what number they appear in google when you search for their keyboards.
There's also the site's content and how it relates to yours, I'm pretty sure.
It's been a while since I've done all this stuff.

It is true, comments links are dead now. The best strategy is to get relevant niche content link, because thats look more natural

I'm not very tech-savvy and I believe there's no point in building a PBN leaving footprints and open doors behind bacause sooner or later G will find them.

I've checked a lot of those mails and they are posted openly by the owners on their blogs inviting people to contact them and/or participate.
I could start by telling them I found their mails on their blogs and could add a link to an unsubscribe page. Just a thought....

Doing guest comments is truly super hard work as many people don't want to see comments pointing to a porn site on their blogs even if the anchor text used is a safe one.
I've spent many hours doing manual comments to see that only a small amount is approved.

I would be very pissed off if my email was scrapped like that and I was emailed. It's why I don't post my email up and use contact forms with captcha instead.

And.. well... that's just how white hat is. It is a lot of hard work. If you want a quick fix, black hat. If you want to be 100% legit, white hat.

I supose they know that posting their mails on their blogs is an invitation to spammers and all kind of unsolicited mails. Any way, I'll play on the safe side.

That's true. I've actually been thinking about what you said and was wondering if it was a good or a bad idea.

Not to sign them up to your mailing list, but send a single invitation email for them to check you out.

However, it would still be spam and it could make email services mark the domain as a spam domain. Which would make it hard for people who actually sign up for things and then the emails go to their spam folder...

This should have its own FORUM, never mind a thread in a section of a forum....

So... Who gets me from 2,500 / day uniques to 10,000 ??? How and for how much?

Let me know and we both will be rich....

FYI : not interested in buying 100,000 hits from some guy in Jalalabad ;)

I have some very basic ideas.

Hey Man,

Saw your question I figured it be a good idea to give my two cents. First, congrats on having a site, welcome to the misery of trying to get it traffic!

Okay, so, my first suggestion, add you site info in your signature! Your signature is completely empty and this is just too easy, whenever you comment on anything here, people will see your signature and maybe, just maybe click on it and go through to your site, who knows what that'll lead to.

Secondly, blog, blog, blog. (I'm getting ready to add one to my site as well) this is a great way to get content out there, Google loves blogs, most search engines love blogs, so, its a great idea but damn, is it time consuming.

You could always join a few other forums, especially those that are porn related and again, be active on them and then eventually, throw a link or two on them and hopefully, you'll get some results.

Porn link directories and other link directories. This is a very old-school idea. However, if you find the good ones, that have a goal and stick to one subject matter, you'll be in the clear.

As with everyone else, find other bloggers out there in the world and see if you guest post, again, time consuming but the rewards will be awesome when you find the diamond in the ruff.

Finally, I'd be more than happy to throw up a free link on my site for you! Just check out my sig. I just launched my site and I'm trying to build up a database and branch out from there. So, I'd be happy to help, however, as I said it's new, so, not too much link juice just yet...

Good Luck!!

Get people to write about you. On sites related to niche / theme. This works best for me.

Best backlink strategy is to have good content, wait and do nothing proactive about backlinks.
