Newer than noob

Alright, yall are going to get to know my dim witted questions pretty well over the next couple of months. First of all, is it Newb or noobe or noob. I'd never seen the word till I started reading posts here a couple of months ago. Hell, I thought it was someone who couldn't spell 'knobhead', that's how new (whichever spelling) I am.

So here's today's TAF questions (I know, you're saying WTF is TAF, well I can play this game too):

What is a 'tube site', I check out tube sites posted here, and they are seemingly filled with copyrighted content with no way for the owners to make money. Now my perception is obviously wrong because youtube is a tube site and their owners make a ton of money, so can somebody clue me in to how a tube site differs from a paysite or TGP, and how the tube site makes money?

TAF question #3: As an infrequent surfer of porn, I always thought TGP's were posted by kid's in their parent basements, fucking about on their parents computers. But after spending some time at GFY reading the posts, it looks like it's a legitimate business. How much money can be made off of TGP's, paysites, tubesites (which I still don't understand), and content creation? Which gives the most bang for the buck?

Thanks, and if any of you are in your parent basement right now, I didn't mean to offend you!

1. Dont worry aboout the spelling.. Most dont.

2. a tube site is like youtube.com or sextube.com or any of the others.. As for googles Youtube, it does not make much money but it keeps the traffic flowing so they keep it. The other tube sites make money from 1. selling banner spots 2. selling skimmed traffic 3. from banners on thier site to affiliate programs.

Some are legal tube sites and the videos are there with the permission of the owners. Others are NOT LEGAL, and they are stolen.

3. What gives the most bang for the buck or where can you make the most. That in general depends 100% on you, Your skills, and your $$ that you can risk.

Yes TGP sites and galleries still make money, or they would not be around.

Hope some of this helps. Feel free to ICQ me any time if you need more help.

1) Tube sites

A tube site is a video sharing website "supposedly" fueled by user-generated content. People video themselves doing stupid shit or having sex, and then upload it for the world to see. Or, they upload movie clips, TV clips, etc.

Since YouTube (and the entire Tube phenomena) is relatively new, the copyright infringement issue is trying to keep pace with the MASSIVE amounts of traffic these sites receive, but it's tough to police that kind of stuff.

So, how can illegal tubes make money? Illegal tubes are sites that accept copyrighted material. Even though an enormous amount of content producers visit the tubes and request that their material be taken down, it remains up until someone notices. Many say that the tube owners upload full length videos themselves from paysite members areas in order to attract visitors.

So, they make money off their massive traffic and advertising. You can have banner advertising, in video advertising, etc.

2) Adult Business

Many people say that 10+ years ago it was very easy to make money in adult, i.e. A kid in his parent's basement could make $1000s per month posting TGPs.

Now, things have changed and it is more competitive.

How much money can be made off of TGP's, paysites, tubesites (which I still don't understand), and content creation? Which gives the most bang for the buck?

SO many factors go into it all...

Thanks!

Thank you Pornguy & Mona, it's starting to make sense now. So I don't ask some questions that I'm sure have been asked repeatedly, could any of you point me to a primer or resource that covers the differences between TGP's, Blogs, Tubes, Dating sites, Banner's, clickthroughs, buying, selling, skimming traffic, and all of the other things a newbie should know before posting here?

I'm ultimately interested in creating my own content for my own membership/paysite. But to avoid 'Kingpins' dilema of starting at the top with great content but a lack of knowledge about the nuts and bolts of the trade, I want to get this business figured out from the bottom up, so I'd like to start with a simple TGP, Blog, and Tube site, and then take it from there.

Going in to this, I would like to know some benchmark figures on income potential. I see plenty of signatures saying that "so & so paid off my house, my car, and my girlfriend", and I see other posts of people with TGP's making $200/month. I understand that the figures can vary dramatically depending on what I do, and how hard I do it and that some of these figures are advertising hype. So some ballpark figures would be nice so I can know what to shoot for.--Thanks!

4. Sponsor vids that direct the viewer to the tour. Some do it automatically, some with a "click here for full video"
