Newb Starting a blog insight needed - GoFuckYourself.com

Newbie here and I have made up my mind in diving into setting up a blog. I need some guidance. Already have been directed to wordpress and I am very interested in hearing any and all details from the "GFY FAM" that would help me out along my way.

There are tons of threads about wordpress here. Just look throught those and apply the info and you should be good. If you have any specific questions, I'm sure some one will answer them.

I don't know whether you are starting a blog to make commission promoting your favorite porn sites, or simply for pleasure.

If it's for profit, then I highly recommend that you employ the idea of starting not one blog, but at least one blog a day.

Think of a blog as a virtual billboard, the more you have the easier it will be to sell your product. ;)

try the viewport theme for wordpress, its more tricky but suitable for a photo blog

This is a great point to make to a newb. Know going in, your going to need multiple blogs to make real money that way you won't do like so many before you and write one blog and call bs on the whole industry. BUT I would start with a niche, but not too specific, from there each blog can drill down more to specifics. And try to stick to one sponsor for the first few so you get a check sooner. IE start with STFU Cash and you can have six blogs for six different paysites dealing with butts. Just an example, use whatever sponsor, but pic one you can build more than one or two blogs with and still link them together without repeating content.

Have you purchased the domain yet? Do you know what niche / genre you'll be promoting? Wordpress is great!

Do you need help actually setting up the blog or help promoting it, or both??

The idea of one blog a day for someone what did not even know about WP is insane.

Do your self a favor before you get in over you head.

Start a blog in a niche that you like. You can get a free theme for starters but I am sure later you will want to get a custom one.

Once you have that blog going with ONLY custom written posts, then start a second one. If you start 1 a day, at the end of the week you will have 1 blog with 7 posts and not much else. There is a good bit of work involved in setting one up. If you know what you are doing, and want to make money from it.

Your right, Im wrong, your good, Im bad. My point was to have a realistic mindset and a plan. Starting a business without a plan is insane.

hey welcome! everyone starts somewhere, wordpress is a good interface and has great support (plugins, themes, etc.)

some quick advice for you - choose a niche and stick to it, build a persona and go for the handwritten post route

you should read what pornguy said.. start 1 first or else you will get frustrated from having too many bad-blogs that arent making sales.
