New to the biz

My paysite has been open for a couple of months. I post on some adult forums and I will get few members here and there. They usually sign up for the initial month, and the same day, cancel their subscription to the site (I guess to avoid the rebill charges.) So my questions are...

What are some forums that I should post on that will get more views and potential customers?

How do I entice affiliates to join my program? (I hear that it's all about the affiliates)

And what else should I do?

I am so confused. I go to nursing school full time, so it is hard for me to do it alone. I am getting fed up with posting so much on useless forums, that I swear probably don't help me at all. Any feedback will help me (even if you tell me that I have nothing special and probably wouldn't have much success.)

Thanks guys

First, why do you think your new members are canceling the same day that they join?

Do you have enough content in your member area? Do you perform regular updates?

Hi and welcome aboard Emma. You got to focus on webmaster message boards more than surfer boards, otherwise it will be a wasting of time IMHO.
You can build few blogs as well and keep them fresh with regulary updates.
Good luck

Hi Emma and welcome to the board. I have run paysites for over four years and they are very successful so I think I can give you some advice on this one.
Firstly, I think your tour isn't right. Anyone visiting your site needs to be enticed into signing up. You have to "tease" the surfer to a point where he has his dick in one hand and his credit card in the other. At the moment your tour has NO free samples other than a single 27Mb (way too big!) sample video (and the video is pretty lame to be honest - it's basically an interview with you linked with some clips of you modelling nude - nothing remotely naughty). There is also no indication of how much content is on your site or how regularly you update. In short you aren't giving the horny surfer enough reasons to sign up. Remember that with a solo girl site you are competing with a VERY large number of sites so you need to stand out, otherwise why should the surfer pick yours? Believe me, just because you're a pretty girl and are willing to take your clothes off doesn't mean you are guaranteed sales. Lots of other elements have to be right for that to happen.
The purpose of the tour is to showcase exactly what the surfer can expect to find inside (without giving away any of the really good bits). So I would add some of your recent updates to the tour with 1.5-2min trailer clips for each. If you update regularly, say so! If you do naughtier stuff inside, say so! Look at some of the really successful solo girl sites and see how their tours are designed and how they entice the surfer inside.
Once your tour is better designed you will do better on sales, which also means you will do better with affiliates. I would post on forums like this one to get affiliates but, again, you need to entice the affiliates. Why should they promote your site rather than someone elses? Do you have excellent promo tools, great conversion ratios, good rebilling percentages (apparently not!)?
I would agree with AIbenjamink that the fact they join and cancel the same day tells you a lot -there is a problem with the content on your site. Either there isn't enough or it's too softcore or it's poor quality - there's something wrong somewhere so you need to look at that as well.
I realise its a confusing thing when you're starting off but I am sure if you stick with it and use your common sense you will do ok - just remember the golden rule - put yourself in the shoes of the person you want to sell to (whether it's affiliates or surfers) and ask yourself "what would I want out of this?"
i.e. if I was an affiliate, what would I want to see from this site to make me promote it?
i.e. if I was a horny guy, what would make me sign up to this site?
Good luck!

I have 22 sets, and 18 videos currently. And 20 bonus sets. Since my members haven't been staying I do not update unless I have active members. But I have content for updates 4 times a week (HD photosets, webcam sets, webcam videos, and hd videos.)
All the reasons for cancellation are satisfied customers, not one has tried to get their money back.

Well I am glad you said that about surfer boards, cause that's how I feel, like I am wasting my time.
By blogs you mean? I have a forum on my site, I update regularly. Is this what you mean?

I totally get you on the site design, I told my webdesigner that I wanted something to indicate when and what I updated. He said he would do add it, but didn't. I showed him a sample of my what I would want my site to look like (which was similar to cybersasha.com)

As far as the tour, I understand where you are coming from too. The site url was givento me. I do not do anything hardcore. The previous model did. I have O-face videos that have not been posted yet and that's about it. I should probably think of changing the name of the site, I was initially worried about the name as well.

Thank you soooo much

Hmmm, there's a problem there Emma. Firstly, you don't have enough content - you may think you do, but you don't. 22 picture sets and 18 videos isn't a lot. If it's your site then producing content should cost very little (are you editing the video yourself or paying someone to do it? Learning a basic package like Windows Movie Maker is simple and will easily do what you need if you want to do it yourself) Even if you are paying a video guy and a photographer it still shouldn't cost a lot - hire them for half a day and shoot as many sets of stills and video in that time to get value for money.
Then you need to adopt an "If I build it they will come" attitude. You can't say "I am not updating because the members aren't staying", you have to be the other way around - "if I update, maybe they will stay". You have to stick to your update schedule which will achieve two things - firstly, the amount of content on your site will grow quickly; and secondly, the surfers will see that updates DO actually happen on time and are more likely to stay (Make 100% sure the updates carry a posting date so they can see this - but then make sure you stick to it!).

No, it's not what he meant. A blog is a type of website where the blog owner makes posts on a regular basis (or has the blog automate this by pulling in RSS feeds) and people are able to make comments on these posts as well as viewing content, advertising, etc . . it's just another way of generating traffic, basically, but blogs are very good for search engines.
Here's my blog so you get the idea - http://www.purecfnm.com/blog
That blog also produces an RSS feed which my affiliates can subscribe to so they automatically get my updates every week, thereby also automatically updating their blogs, TGP sites, etc . . So it's a good thing to do for your surfers but also your affiliates.

First of all, you have to find (select) the zest of you site ... and don't forget to pronounce it everyday and everyway.

Welcome aboard and good luck with your site!

I totally see where you are coming from. Site needs more content-check, keep up with sceduled updates-check. My high def videos are edited. My webcam videos are as I film them. I make sure to view them beforehand and see if I need to do a retake, but I like the candid approach to them. My content is shot by myself or a friend, so I don't have to worry about paying an arm an a leg.

OK this is all good news. If your content is therefore cheap to produce, get stuck in and produce a shit load of it so you can start updating regularly - which in time will also pack out the members area.
You also mentioned somewhere above that you don't do any really naughty stuff inside your members area. In that case you might want to think about some of the softcore niches you could hit - panties, upskirts, feet, tickling, etc . . - A solo girl site where the girl doesn't do anything naughty even in the members area IS quite a hard sell so see if there is a niched angle you can hit - as I said before, it's all about separating yourself from the crowd

Hi, also starting out and been reading your comments with great attention. You did point to out - checking out successful solo sites is a good idea... I can see that your site is an excellent example of what you have described, however which softcore solo sites are you or is anyone else aware of which have been really successful? Thanks.

to answer my own question:

whilst it's not the final word in terms of financial success or by any measure in fact, it should be a good indicator as to which sites are near the top in your niche, in case one wants to take notes
www . thebestporn . com

unless someone in the know can let us know if this site is too biased for some reason

Hehe, yes I did think about mentioning that myself but I figured it was either an aged domain so worth keeping or she had already spent some considerable time marketing it and also therefore didn't want to change it.

Well, first you should note that my sites are not solo girl sites. However I can certainly give you some places to look at successful solo girl sites (and this list is in no way comprehensive, it's just a few examples):-

I asked this question above. This was a previously used domain for a paysite. I will consider this. Thank you

Welcome to GFY Emma.

You are getting some solid advice in this thread so I suggest you take it and run.

Definitely regular updates and interaction with your members will keep them rebilling.

Once you have your site how you want it then you can get more involved in GFY and pick up a lot more affiliates.

Good luck.

It's all about initial available content and future updates -- and then quality. Do these and review sites will likely love your sites!
