self pic legal question - GoFuckYourself.com

This might be dumb and I might be over thinking it but I am starting a new site and I want all the pictures to come from them so they are real self pics. My question is. How can I do this legaly since I am not taking the photos? Do still have them to sign a modeling contract and take a copy of their ID or do the need to sign some kind of documents signing over the photos? If someone could tell me how to do this that would be great!

You still need to have the models sign a release form as well as provide valid identification for your records. If a model decides to come back sometime in the future, demanding that you remove her photos, I don't think you are going to get very far (legally speaking) without having the release that she signed.

Thank You for the relpy. Another question that came to mind. Can I email them a pdf copy of the models release and have them sign it and send a copy of their ID and a Picture of them holding their ID. I am looking to get models nation wide. Can this be possilbe to do?

Yes I think that it's possibile. The important thing is that you have in your office a piece of paper with the signed model release and her id.

Send the model a PDF file of the release form *AND* 2257 form. Have her sign both forms and mail them back to you along with the content. She should also include two forms of ID, one with a picture showing she is 18+ years of age AT THE TIME THE CONTENT WAS PRODUCED, and another showing legal right to work in the USA (assuming she was 'hired' to have the pictures taken). Typically when we shoot content we have the model place both IDs on the current day newspaper and take a picture of it, make a copy of it, and record video of it. This way there is clear evidence of the day the content was produced and the model's age at that time.

From what I heard, you need that 2257 form and records and documentation of consent, and that the model is over 18.
