This time it is suppose to be because they are protesting the Catholic church. However, the real answer is they will take any excuse to protest. They were protesting the funerals of AIDs victims back in the early 90s. Then they protested the funeral of Matthew Shepard, the 21 year old that was brutally killed for being gay. That got them a considerable amount of attention (and the counter protest against them there was beautiful).

Then, they decided to go big time and start insulting straight people by picketing the funerals of fallen soldiers. All with the excuse that because there are gay people in the States, god is killing the soldiers as punishment.

I despise them but I think the non-violent protests are the way to have the higher ground. They really are a small group of mostly family members. They get far too much attention and it fuels them.

I'm not the one making the claim it does exist... at that, I'm not actually claiming god doesn't exist. What I stated was an example of why it's on you to show proof and not the other people.

See... they didn't start off by making the claim he didn't exist. What happened was someone claimed god did exist, and someone else said prove it. The original claim came from your side... all your doing is simply twisting it back because you can't prove anything.

Which is all the proof a non-believer needs.

Lets try this again. I'm not trying to convince anyone that God doesn't exist but the anti religious people such as yourself are trying to convince everybody that God doesn't exist, so the onus is on you.

A non believer will take any little thing as proof, just like a believer will take any little thing as proof of his beliefs. In the end, you're in the same boat as the other guy.:winkwink:

You almost got it right... I'm anti-religious, but I do think a creator does/did exist - which is different than a God.

I've never had an atheist or anti-religious person knock on my door.... ever. I've never been out in the public and heard an atheist preach. At that, I can't recall anyone like that ever preaching to me, or even speaking until the overall subject is brought up and pushed.

But you can be damn sure I've had religion/god shoved down my damn throat, just like every other person on this forum.

So yes, your side is dang sure the one pushing it, across the entire world.. that is without question.
