something we can agree on.

Am I the only one who thought Katy Perry would be the best choice? Seriously - I began to think - maybe the commercials weren't all that bad now

Did you notice that several of those categories overlap in terms of age/sex/race?

Guess not.

But "live"? It just wasn't happening. The AutoTune voice with Will I Am was just horrible. And like a lot of songs that try to slide in some "rap", those parts just came off like a bunch of people yelling at each other.

Fergie can sing pretty good. And she looks great. Which is what makes her a star. But I'm sure...no, I'm POSITIVE that a lot of their fans were scratching their heads and wondering why they couldn't sound anywhere like they do on the records.

I mean...it wasn't like a live band trying to re-produce a studio sound. This was 4 people singing over a recorded track for God's sake. Karaoke on a grand scale. And they still blew it.

I thought rap was a bunch of people yelling?

I would have to agree, the half time show stunk.....but the game was great!

And how about Christina Aguilera's blunder of the National Anthem. Not only did she screw it up, she sounded like crap.

Agreed. I am pretty much a traditionalist when it comes to the National Anthem. They can interject a little bit of themselves into it, but by and large, I want it to be sang the way it is supposed to be sang. Her performance ranks right up there with a God-awful one that Steven Tyler did prior to the Indy 500 one year.

I am sure that the members of the armed forces that were there, or the ones watching overseas risking their lives were really impressed that she couldn't get the lyrics right.

The values far exceed 100% due to the way such demographic surveys are calculated. With such a small percentage of the overall population surveyed (just over 2000) and the manner in which they were surveyed/formulas used to calculate, the results do tend to reflect such disparities.

The science behind it is more complex than just mere addition.

i have a lot of respect for black eye peas and fergie, they are very talented artists.
much like our industry has been "altered" by technology, so has music - like it or not.

FYI, Brian was not watching, he came over to my set spying on my photography secrets

I know that last year The Who didn't sound so good. But I just read that Roger Daltry had just had surgery for throat cancer a couple of weeks before they did that gig (he is now 100% and getting ready for a big Who tour)

I'd much rather see the bands like U2, The Stones, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty...you know REAL bands that can actually play and sing and put on a show without the need for autotune and chintzy lame crap like we saw tonight.

But the game kicked ass!

Please mark this date down in history. I agree with BOTH The Demon and Robbie. Wow. Look at that: God-awful Black-Eyed Peas sound rape brings GFY together. Aw.

if its technology making them sound good in the studio then i would have to say they are not great artists. voice alterned singing, lame lyrics. what do they bring the to the table?
