National Enquirer.

Nuff said.

Mutt 02-19-2011 12:24 AM

brutal, nice of these 'sources' to gossip to a tabloid. he's dying, there's nothing left of him. that's what cancer does in the end stage, it consumes every cell/tissue in your body like Pacman times a million.

unless doctors tell you chemo has a solid chance of curing or getting you back to some quality of life for a decent amount of time - refuse it. it just prolongs and adds to the misery.

when my dad's cancer recurred and the doctor told him it had spread, my dad said 'i'm just going to let it rip'. my mom and us kids begged him to try chemo, we were still clinging to hope that chemo could buy him some good years - doctors don't want to tell you what they don't think you want to hear, perhaps they should. anyway the chemo just made my dad's last few months worse. people should go out on their own terms, if they can't accept they're dying then let them get chemo but if it were me I'd rather take some pills and peacefully go before the monster completely ravaged me.

Sounds like your dad knew what he wanted. Once its at the advanced stages, chemo is just prolonging the inevitable.

My mother in law just beat back cancer with some chemo carpet bombing -- but she caught it really early.

Mutt,

Sorry about your dad. I hope it is tabloid rumor in this case. Steve Jobs is brilliant! It would be such a shame for him go at such a young age, not to mention at the height of his career. :(

It sounds harsh but you are totally right. To each their own but I am much more a quality of life than a quantity of life person. I'd rather live it up proper and go out as much as possible on my own terms then spend it confined and let them set my veins on fire.

Yup, and notice when they had a chance to shoot his face from the front they took a photo of his hand and left his face out!!

How is that DOS thing working out for you? If there was just a graphical way to interact with the programs on my computer things would be so much easier...

{Psycho} 02-19-2011 03:52 PM

Ah so sorry to hear

SomeCreep 02-19-2011 06:03 PM

I really hope he has more than 6 weeks. It all depends on whether or not his cancer has metastasized (spread to other organs). If it has, his condition is terminal.

Yes because it only makes sense that without Steve Jobs computer interfaces would have stalled at text and never naturally evolved to a graphic interface. :error
