What fields must be included in the form if I make my own buy now forms?

vdbucks 03-09-2011 08:37 AM

When are you guys going to make loading funds... faster? I mean, like how funds clear our bank on day 2 but don't reach our account until day 9.. far too slow if ya ask me.

At this point Paxum works only with Pay Buttons defined in Merchant Services >> My Saved Buttons.

The HTML file generated by Paxum can be changed according to the Merchant?s website design, but the included variables should stay the same.

In our next upgrades we do to this system a more robust buy now system should be in place

Chris, I see. Do you know when the new system will be ready? I have a website where I sell e-books. When I add a book to the store, I only need to add the title and price to database and I am done. When I want to adjust the price for let's say an Easter promotion, I only need to change the prices in my mysql database and I am done. The PHP checkout script reads the prices from the database and constructs the PayPal buy now button based on that. I wanted to offer Paxum as an option to my customers, but if I have to create and save a button for every book in my store and than create and save another button every time I want to change prices than I don't think I will be using Paxum.

Hi Ruth, I want to use IPN to synchronize our server with Paxum. I've looked over the Payment API document and samples and I haven't found any information about IPN. Can you please point me in the direction where I can find a full in-depth specification of IPN like PayPal has? Thanks

Hi Kelly,
We should have IPN documentation up very soon. In the meantime I'll add you on ICQ and then I can pop you a message once it's made live so you don't have to keep checking for it.
Thanks! :thumbsup

Well, we had a ticket open regarding the situation, but were basically told that it's up to the bank when the funds are released in our account; which I guess mostly makes sense.. it's just that it's 2011 and no other service we use that says 5-7 business days actually takes 8-9. In most cases, our funds have cleared both sides of a transaction in 3 days (aside from holidays and such).

Now, I don't pretend to know everything there is to know about banking, but what i do know is this hurry up and wait game is becoming a thing of the past in most places... so was just curious if there was anything you guys are doing as a whole to speed up the process.

BTW, don't take this as me being rude as that's not my intent.. it's just how I talk ><

More updates

Today we made some additional upgrades to enhance the most recent updates we made to our security, as well as the new merchant tools we put in place.

As a result I'm happy to say that now Paxum clients can enjoy the following updates:

Customer Reputation - We added this feature on Monday and today we updated to allow Paxum clients to designate which customer reputation levels they wish to do business with. This saves valuable time by automating the customer reputation lookup process based on your own account preferences.

Payments Whitelist - The Paxum Payments Whitelist enables you to add those Paxum friends who you ALWAYS want to be able to do business with so you'll never run into any conflict with your Risk Rating and Customer Reputation preferences.

Pay Now/Subscribe Buttons - We tell you we're listening and we show you that we are by acting in response to your suggestions. Some Paxum clients were thrilled we added Pay Now buttons, but expressed disappointment that they would have to login to create each button. We understand how precious your time is, and so we have updated those Pay Now and Subscribe buttons to be able to be created dynamically on your website without having to login to your Paxum account each time.

Accept Paxum Payments Landing Page - As requested, now you can add your own company/website LOGO to the Accept Payments Landing Page.

Online Documentation
- We have updated our online documentation to include information relating to API, IPN and Pay Now/Subscribe Buttons, as well as the previous Payment API information being integrated into the new format.

Thanks! Keep those suggestions coming :thumbsup
