what does a ham hock taste like?

i'm a picky eater, it pisses people off especially women - i try to find something on the menu i can tolerate but sometimes it's not possible

can't say that I eat anything gross or weird, but my fiance eats alot of weird seafood. I know that doesnt sound bad, but I hate seafood.

Has anyone ever had Rocky Mountain Oysters (Bulls Balls)? Heard they were delicious, just can't get myself to try them.

How about holodetz or seledka? haha

I tried them and surprisingly, they were pretty good. If you could push past the fast that you're munching on a set of balls. I had them deep fried and just said fuck it and dug in. They were a little mushy, almost like a paté or a deep fried seafood oyster minus the seafood flavor.

Mutt, a hamhock has a strong smoked meat flavor. A lot of people use it just to spice up their food. The mean is pretty lean and extremely tender...yet you'd be lucky to get a couple knuckle sized chunks out of a one hock. In my opinion, the best part is the skin. I really can't compare it to anything. It's fatty but also chewy and melts in your mouth. I slow cook them for about 4-5 hours to make the skin more tender. Otherwise it's like eating fatty leather.

I was in the Phillipines years ago and they were eating balot. Talk about fucking disgusting!!! It's a fertilized egg that has a fully formed chick inside. It's all bloody and veiny and disgusting. It's a popular drunk food for them. They tried and tried and tried to get me to eat one but there was no way I would be able to keep one of those things down and I ate cow testicles before! :helpme

I used to fry lamb's kidney's for breakfast one morning every weekend. My girlfriend (then wife, now ex-wife) hated the smell, but her cats loved it, and always wanted a little taste.

Every once in a while, you bust yourself so bad.

lamb
lamb brains
chicken hearts/kidneys
tongue from cow
hamhocks with white beans (his mom makes a mad Louisiana style dish with corn bread I cannot get enough of!)
cucumbers - thinks they stink but would eat pickles from the jar

i really hate when he makes steamed broccoli in the steamer
and with cheese melted on top, even more gross
