I see the results still didn't deter you from accepting a position with .xxx.

I bet a lot of people will do what Jerry Douglas said to do and register a domain like this

mysitexxx.com to block the .xxx

Your mother will suck cock in hell.

Just no reason to register one... they aren't going to increase my revenue, so if I was going to ever buy an off extension, it would be the cheapest one. At least I could buy a ton of them and have a better chance of increasing my revenue through volume and have to cover far less per domain to keep the micro domains.

I will to protect my brand

Dang... The 'net has like 280+ domain extensions, that's a good chunk of a change each year to protect a brand. Do you grab the misspells and typos as well?

Do not waste your money. If someone else buys it, you can take it from them. There is no need to just go out and buy it. :2 cents:

Just checking here. Who was it that said you could take it again, if you had the .com?

I am going to book mark this thread and it can be revisited in 2-3 years.

I hit yes because I will have no choice.

SmutHammer 05-06-2011 04:26 PM

I wouldn't pay attention to what people say here. wait until after it comes out and see what happens. there are good and bad things with it, personally I like the higher cost for domains, then people won't be buying and upselling them as much. seems like the rest sucks.... I think at leaste 70% of the people saying no, will end up buying them.

Go read the IFFOR and ICM websites.

Show me one place on the ICM or IFFOR web sites that suggest their goal is for a mandatory implementation. I think you are pretty safe with your ialien.com. And no one is going to make a grab for any blogs you have, I am sure.

I did not know you could divine the future Baddog.

But for the record I have many many domains now.
And to pursue more business I may have no choice but to register .XXX not for matters regarding trademarks, but for business growth.

Yeah..........you said the magic words. IFFOR and ICM. My point, since it was too subtle, was consider the source when putting trust in anything they say.

I'm a domain speculator and give a firm NO. The adult industry I know doesn't support it - there's no reason to believe it will be widely adopted by the adult industry, leaving it no different than a .tel.

They wouldn't come out and baldly state that on their site/s though, especially if it was part of an agenda which they're either behind or unaware of.

If enough people buy their .xxx it might be impetus to shovel the remnant hold-outs into the ghetto via legislation.

If not enough people buy in, and ICM sees projected revenue get a punch in the gut, I would bet the Lawley Gang may feel the need to lobby for something they may or may not have been hoping to happen.

It's a not-impossible worst-case scenario.

BTW have you gone to ICM's .xxx? It was up for a while, but now... http://icmregistry.xxx/

Must be an NDA...

:D
