Will it work in Canada?
|
I love anal hobbit like a brother ........
|
This is funny in an amateur Lex Luther way, but total BS. The whole duplicate or copied receipt scam has been around for a while.
I used to work for Costco, and still know many who do. 1) They never give a duplicate receipts "for taxes" - for that exact reason 2) TVs and other high end electronics are uniquely tracked 3) Door people work whole shifts up front and are only part of security 4) Employees are trained to recognize copied receipts - they have special inks and paper 5) They have cameras and loss prevention people/devices in the electronics section 6) Costco leads the industry in "shrink" (aka theft loss) so I doubt it's that easy or a major problem. Sure, anyone could steal a few TVs during Costco rush hour if they wanted to risk jail. But, your chances are probably just as good running out the side exits with a get-away driver waiting just outside (that used to happen once in a while). |
OMG this was the best tip ever Mr hobbit. I just got myself two TV's today.
|
Ok I got 3 of these but they didnt come with the 3d bluray players or glasses. Tonight's 3d party is going to suck.
|
I did this and it worked. I did it exactly as mr. anal suggested but I didn't have room to store more than one tv in my trailer home. So what I did was sell them in the parking lot. I got between 200-600 dollars for the tvs and cleaned out the whole pallet of tvs on the floor(14). It took maybe 2 hours... i pocketed the money and then got on the bus back to the trailer home park.:thumbsup:thumbsup

This is ridiculous. That won't work. And I bet that at least one person on here is going to actually try it. There is still some shit that you can do to rip stores off, but they've made 99.9% of it into an instant felony because you have to sign for returns. Returns are just about the only good way to rip stores off, these days. You buy broken expensive small items (NOT electronics - most stores don't take the back, OR will give you a lot of trouble about it, now) on the street and then you return them for gift cards which you then sell for 40% or less face value. It's not worth the trouble. The only real way to do this would be to buy full loads of store returns and have a team of clowns returning things all over different areas. But then there's simply not enough profit in it. At all. And it's clumsy. 1. Source your store returns which will cost you 2. Assemble a team who will rat you out first question asked 3. Wait for team member to rat you out 4. Go to jail 5. Sell gift cards if rats brought you any 6. You're still in jail so #5 isn't possible Simple!!! :1orglaugh |
Plus, what if the stores have everything coded? You can't take the box with you, which looks bad.. and some electronics they're putting codes right on them.. Then what abou cameras, surely they will have facial recognition software if they don't already.... so even if you go hundreds of miles before doing another store, you're still not safe
It's just stupid. |
Anyone need bail money I can send pay-pay for 10%.

This isnt the White House or a Casino you are trying to Rob. Its a fucking Costco. |
GFY shouldndeletenthis post.
Is teaching to steal!!!! |
This is pure bullshit. It wouldn't work, you don't think store security aren't watching you like a hawk ? Did you know all the CCTV cameras hidden around the place actually feed to centers designed to pick up on this kind of thing.
My cousin is a security consultant for [insert massive retail chain here] what they do with these types of scams, and trust me I have heard of more creative ones than this, is slowly collect enough evidence to gain a really big conviction rather than a slap on the wrist. Firstly, I don't believe you did it or can do it, secondly if you did you're a fucking moron and will probably receive a knock on the door (remember police won't knock on your door until the investigation is over), thirdly this thread has no place on GFY this thread should be locked. |
people still get bent out of shape and take AH threads seriously? lolololololol

One 60" LED TV would have been more believable, 9 TVs with the kids in tow.. no way. :)
Altho, 99% chance if you start carting a 60" LED around someone is watching you in all major chains. |
This will work but it is a lot of trouble to move around 60" tvs.
http://content.costco.com/Images/Con...uct/996320.jpg I went for this 32" because it was easier for me to lift on the cart and they had a 2 pallet display. I also get disability checks from the welfare folks so I didnt want to be on camera lifting heavy objects, ya know :winkwink: Anywho, in about 2 hours I had 14 out the door and sold...made about $4500 or so. Walked down to the liquor store and bought some wild turkey and then bussed it back to my trailer home. But don't be fooled tho, I know me and hobbit make it sound easy... it is really hard work moving these things about.:Oh crap . |
I tried it this afternoon, I am up to 2 TV's....... thanks AH!! Your invited for the final game.... Im taking miami bitch
|
You know when you go into Best Buy and the guy sitting by the door always says, "hi". You know that is there way of saying you are now being watched.
Of course there isnt quite the same feeling when the bored looking handicapped guy or the crabby older lady at Walmart (or Costco) gives ya a grunt or says nothing as you walk in. :) |

Do not do this with Plasma's or LCDs.. It must be done with LED's.. LED's are in much smaller boxes and weigh a fraction of the weight of the LEDs and Plasmas.. They are super light weight and come in a narrower box. There is a reason I said LED and not LCD or Plasma. Stick to the plan people. Pay attention to detail. Some of us are not made out for this kind of thing I know. I can tell by the doubt in some of these posts in people trying to discourage it. But fact of the matter is not everyone has this kind of thing cut out for them. Some of us do. Those of us who do or have the balls to do so must pay close attention to the details of what im saying. Its critical.. Get true LED's... Not the LCD/LED Back light tvs that Vizzo makes. Must be Samsung 3D HD TRUE LED... |
do you recommend sending an underage relative in to do this..
if they get caught they will probably not face jail time.. is it difficult to train a 15 or 16 year old to do this? i would rather send them in then risk going to jail.. let me know asap, i have 5 underage relatives i could use and 6 costco's in a 50 mile radius.. ok.. thanks.. . |

Besides, even if you find a way, how old are you? I grew out of the scammy shit when I was in my late teens... AND I never ripped any individual off in any way.. what about you? I know that the scams I ran on stores as a boy probably raised prices .0000000000000000000000001% but I was young and it was a good time and I don't feel too bad about it |

Hell, you never know, I saw a guy who wanted a big laser printer. So he walked into a major retailer, loaded it onto a cart from some other store and walked right the fuck out with that huge printer. |

Door greeters are a huge weapon against theft... It's proven that being greeted or acknowledged makes someone far less likely to steal something.. believe it or not :thumbsup |

Ok kids.. The weekend is here. Get busy.
Let me know how you guys did! Remember if you arent comfortable with TVs start small. Start with like a candybar, produce, a book or lawn fertilizer.. Get your feet wet and your confidence up first. Nothing wrong with a few test runs first. |
I did it today actually. I did it with a pizza. Two Pizzas for the price of one.
It worked. :thumbsup |
