How ignorant you must be to try to find any meaning in that photo above? At first place, Riva was introduced in 1980, and people simply need and want to have cheap, and reliable car. That car would still be bought all over the world because it can work in extreme conditions. As far as I know it wasn't sold only in Eastern EU, Africa and Asia, but also to UK, France, I think Germany also (I am not sure about that). There must be a reason for that or all those people are simply stupid. Anyway, more info about that model :

These cars are still in production (as most of the other Soviet shit piles like the volga etc where only the wheels have changed in the last decade) because it takes billions of dollars to develop new cars and put them into production... and because Russia does not have the ability to develop new, reliable cars on any real scale. Some of our best most reliable clients are from Russia and also some of the biggest problems we deal with come from Russians, so I don't think you can group them all in one group. :pimp

All of my dealings and interactions with Russians have not been good, and that's putting it mildly.

I could write a list of shady, rude and dishonest things I've watched Russians do first hand. I've worked with them, lived near them and dated them. The girls are hot, and that's about all I can give them.

I wouldn't want to classify a large group of people with a blanket assumption, but I have empirical evidence that they should mostly not be trusted.
