funny to see how everyone talks about % ... what i have learned way back in school is ...
"DONT TRUST STATISTICS - 'CEPT YOU FAKED THEM YOURSELF!"

that being sad ... i think too many US folks are fatassed-halfeducated whimps who dont care a fuck about their and their kids future and hence will stay home while OTHERS fight for them ... a shame ...

listen closely to the lyrics ...

STAND UP!

Bunch of jobs available in Alabama... Republican/tea party/conservatives were brilliant in passing some tough illegal immigrant laws.. Gotta kick them out of the country ya know.. So all the illegals left and now the crops are rotting in the fields because there's no one to harvest it and Americans don't want the work cause it's too hard. More financial losses for the backbone of america... Oh well...

Oh hell no... Capitalism is the greatest thing around and benefits everyone.

Taking the idea that social change occurs because of the struggle between different classes within society who are under contradiction against each other, the Marxist analysis leads to the conclusion that capitalism oppresses the proletariat, the inevitable result being a proletarian revolution.

but here and there they really cover things that are swept under the rug by "our" mainstream media

The one must be a very naive person to believe there is some honest, open-minded and independent news agency. Course RT is pro-Putin (he has a not so big support here BTW), Euro News is pro-EU, Al Jazeera is pro-Arabic, FOX is pro-republican etc. And every one has it's point of view for everything.

Wise people always watch/read all the news sources they can reach (fortunately all major ones are available in my country). This is the only way to compare these POV's and make your own decision.

Despite the fact that RT has a lot Putin's PR (like those other Russian TV channels that are controlled by government), however its still a good source of alternative information which will never been shown at CNN, BBC, FOX etc. :2 cents:

I vaguely recall that when ones unemployment ends you are no longer counted as part of the unemployed statistic. This could account for a much higher rate.

All the evidence that I've been looking through and observing points that we are headed that way; everything is being put into place. :2 cents:

There is the real world, and then there is GFY. On GFY we're always on the verge of some catastrophe, revolution, world war, or apocalypse.

I swear some of the threads here would be the same if you stuck a couple of meth heads in a room together with a pound of drugs and came back 72 hours later. They'd be talking about how you have to watch out for the light bulbs because in the 1800's the Illuminati took over the light bulb industry and they're now putting listening devices into them. Oh, and of course some guy would have proof about it because he knows of a youtube video, or russian news source that verifies it.

Listen to the ex intel guy talking on the video above

?We have 22 per cent unemployment and on our way to 30 per cent. We are 16 per cent below the poverty line and on our way to 30 per cent. There is no question in my mind that this is going to be a very dark winter in the United States,? he stated. ?Unless the government restores its own integrity and starts paying attention to the public interest rather than to the special interests, I believe that we will have a form of revolution, initially non-violent, but with the potential to become violent,? he added.

Fury over corporate power in the US is spreading from New York across the country. Thousands have joined the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement, angered by the economic slump that may lead to a revolution in the country.

Despite the fact that ?Occupy Wall Street? protesters have raised everything from lack of jobs to global warming, there is a common cause uniting the activists, Steele believes.

?These are not stupid people. They are very smart and they understand that at root this is about corruption in government and corruption on Wall Street,? he explained. ?And until you have electoral reform, you cannot restore the integrity of US government. So there is a common cause, but it is voiced in many different ways,? he maintained.

The protest started out peacefully, but now it is the third week and more than 700 people have been arrested on Brooklyn Bridge. And according to Steele, the NYC police have on the one hand been very well-managed and on the other hand have gotten out of control at lower levels.

?My personal hope is that the general non-violent strike will be used to force the issue of electoral reform,? he concluded.

lets pretend there are as many as 10,000 protesters across the country.
10,000/350,000,000=.000028%
or a number too small to be relevant.
If the media wasn't lying about how big the movement is and giving them so much face time on TV, they'd be gone already.

bunch of bored people trying to stir a pot

When I was in vegas just the other week it was one of the channels on inside venetian las vegas. They had some decent coverage of the OWS. Just another side of things to watch.

Before that though I had never heard of the station. Curious to know if any network like att, cox, time warner has it. Now time to go waste a couple minutes looking that up.
