Any of you suckering for this too? Or is it just because im not used to 100s of them on every corner :)

WELL.....I did before this happened....You'll never believe this shit. So I was at dunkins one day and it was a nice sunday morning. There was a rough looking african american sitting there just outside as I walked in. I didn't have change...until I got my coffee. I gave him a handful of change and even realized i had additional change in my other pockets. I felt good. Helped him out. I then realized I forgot a straw for the Iced coffee. No biggie I'll just run back in and grab one. What did I see. He shuffled through all of the coins that I gave him...and threw all the pennies on the ground and kept only those of higher value. I let this MOFO have a huge piece of my mind. That was the last time I gave anyone change. It's his fault that no one will get it ever again. I was bullshit!

Every time I've seen someone less fortunate at the time when I wasn't one of the less fortunate (heh), I would give whatever bill happened to be the first I grabbed out of my pocket or wallet unless it was just $1, then I'd look for a bigger denomination. This might sound crazy to most, but during the years I was doing this I would "justify" it by comparing it to what I'd buy with that and realize they were in need of it more than I.

This came to a halt when a friend of mine gave a homeless man in NYC a $20 just out of the goodness of his heart, then the homeless man was searched by a cop on-foot outside of the establishment and there were drugs found on him. The cop then was accusing my friend of a transaction, rather than a donation.

Lol I learned the hard way about these people. Was going into a grocery store one time and some guy held me up for at least 5 minutes telling this story about him having no money to eat. I had no cash on me just my card so I offered to buy him what he needed to make some sandwiches for at least a few days. When I came out the guy was gone.
