"Police took more than $9 million cash, art work, and big screen TVs"

It was $15 million, but I'm picturing a scene straight out of Training Day. :1orglaugh

We all know how much art work can be worth, but how the fuck are "big screen TVs" even noteworthy in comparison to the cars and cash?

Seriously. That is ridiculous.

I can't even fathom having something like that and then losing it to the US government. That would probably turn me into a home grown terrorist. :1orglaugh

Don't forget that houses in NZ are about 10 times as cheap as in some regions of the US. You might be able to get a mortgage for a house like that in NZ, but then ask yourself, would you want to live there, far away from your friends and relatives. They were already living like refugees if you ask me. NZ is a beautiful country, great scenery and great people, but they were all "far away from home".

I didn't know real estate was cheap there. Think it's difficult to get a long term visa though.

The distance doesn't bother me, I'm already on the other side of the world. :upsidedow

It gets better -- Kim Dotcom has hired Washington attorney Robert Bennet -- Bill Clinton's impeachment lawyer.

Lawyer: Extradition of Kim Dotcom not easy

I wonder if he paid these lawyers retainers in advance?

The circus starts soon -- plenty of GFY Drama!

One of the things the anti piracy brigade are hoping for is the voter reaction. Well lets look at one of the leading pirates closely.

Kim Dotcom for instance

Get the PR guys onto this and show the voters who the pirasites are, what they do, how much they make and what losing that revenue from US tax payers means and see what it will do to voters thinking. It's a PR man's wet dream. Especially when you start to multiply it by the tens of other sites all doing the same. He was just one of the greedy people stealing from other to fuel a lifestyle that rives top movies stars.

He was only leasing it. He tried to buy it but couldn't pass the character test of the government to own property there. His family was granted residency though and he celebrated by spending $500k to sponsor Aukland's NYE 2010 fireworks.
