looks like oron has been ditched for some other file lockers.

There is if enough content owners step up. Trust me, get 500 calls from content owners claiming theft SOMEONE will DO SOMETHING.

Just like if the DA where Chris Mallick resides got hundreds of calls and hundreds of IC3 forums were filed..Not the case though, we are all pushovers. ha ha.

Get a bunch of forum members to send anonymous emails to paypal, they'll end up in a junk folder somewhere. Complete waste of time.

Oron are reviewing affiliate accounts one by one at the moment. the first approvals seem to show uploaders of warez and movies are banned but those with terabytes of porn aren't :disgust

That's why I'm surprised the other sites are shitting themselves so badly; it's probably the 'safest' time for them, because until MU is concluded I doubt the Feds could or would do anything with any other site. Especially as, AFAIK, the MU bust relied on an informant within MU supplying inside information, which is unlikely to be the case at any other site. It's not like the Feds had nothing better to do the other day and decided to start fucking up a file locker every week.

The MU case will drag on for years. Until that time I would say there's no chance that another file locker would even get investigated, let alone busted, unless they did something egregiously stupid.

That one's probably true anyway. I think the lockers who have made a boatload of money will take all this as a sign to get out. Other sites might hope to mop up the traffic from dead sites and will get back to business as usual in a month or two, and there must surely people looking at what Kim Dotcom made, rather than his potential jail time, and thinking it's worth a shot to start their own file share site.

I've seen it reported that Oron is re-activating accounts after reviewing them, perhaps ones that haven't received DMCA's. So now would be the time to flood all the forum posts with DMCA's.

Investigation and prosecution are the two different things. FBI or whatever other agency team that conducted investigation is now finished and their only time spent on megaupload case from now on will be to testify in court, which is not much in terms of man-hours.

Their main resources are obviously free now and they must be looking for the next "victim". Filehosts closing left and right and running into the sunset are obviously doing the right thing to save themselves from 50 years long vacations at warm and hospitable Uncle Sam Inn. Agencies are unlikely to spend tax dollars to beat the dead horse that sites like fileserve or filesonic are now, they're aiming their guns at whatever stupid fuck didn't get the message yet.

100% agreed. Many programs need to be doing a detailed sweep of pornbb and others like it right now and send out a whack of DMCA notices to Oron. Sites like Met Art, Twisty, FTV, ATK get hammered on that forum.

Yes, a good use of time where you can truly make a dent in the whack-a-mole game.

Yeah a lot of them got taken out on their own, but still got netfile.in, rapidshare, uploaded.to, uploading.com and depositfiles as mirrors for each post. So they are all well covered with options even with the dead ones.

yes most links have been swapped out to newer smaller file lockers.
