Richards, yes, but the other thing that's pushing the Kings deeper into the playoffs is the fact that they've been this far before, and are playing like they know enough not to take stupid retaliatory penalties. The Blues unfortunately aren't playing as disciplined as this stage of their cup run calls for, and they're paying for it.

Kings just went from being my third favorite team to being the only team I can in good conscience still root for to go all the way.

Flyers are coming apart in pieces because they can't bedevil the Devils like they did the Pens. Caps lost a game they should have taken for the stupidest penalty I have seen a player pull in any of the games so far but my fingers are crossed that they can still pull off a miracle... or at the very least leave the Rangers with no gas in the tank.

Smith is insane, sure, but the guy is so freaking big that most of the pucks are just swallowed up because he covers the majority of the space... and when he comes out I think his whole team stops breathing and thinks "not again!" (while I bet Smith is probably thinking "how can I make this more challenging?")

Coyote and Kings will be a clash of the titanic goalies but I think the Kings offense has finally figured out how to put a goal or two in the net...

IIII'm not so sure I'd have included that laughing smiley. It was a damn close game. With the post hits by the Preds and several scoring chances that I still can't fathom how the puck stayed out the score could just as easily been 4-2 or even 5-2 for Nashville.

But you're right, they're out, and moreover I think in the offseason that team (Nashville) is going to see some serious personnel changes. Several of their top players will be free agents soon for one thing.

Coyotes-Kings should be a great series. I think I'll go ahead and predict Kings in 6, possibly 7.

That goal on the Caps was pretty much the third world town dump of dirty goals, a richochet off the butt and with a healthy dose of goalie interference but, whatever, Holtby can earn his shut out next time. really? i think its cause teams have guys dropping to block shots, playing defense, outstanding goaltending. of course the first round was high scoring, you have to weed out everyone that isn't as good. i don't really equate this to hockey on ice, and if you know good soccer you don't say its not exciting

I like the style of hockey being played right now actually. Then again I like it all, wide open or close checking, it's all good in my book. The best players will find a way to get it done no matter what the tone of the game is. Period. If they can't find a way to deal with it then they fucking don't deserve the Lord Stanley.

I'm okay with either the Caps or Rangers moving on, but on one note I wouldn't actually mind not having to see Tortorella's eye-rolling weasel face any more this season. I couldn't believe that idiot Phoenix player didn't shoot the puck. In the final minute he gets the puck in the high slot, has a sweet lane to let one rip but instead passes stupidly into traffic which lamely ends in giving up an empty netter to seal the game for LA.
