The amount the U.S. military spends annually on air conditioning in Iraq and Afghanistan: $20.2 billion, according to a former Pentagon official.
That's more than NASA's budget. It's more than BP has paid so far for damage from the Gulf oil spill. It's what the G-8 has pledged to help foster new democracies in Egypt and Tunisia. http://www.npr.org/2011/06/25/137414...r-conditioning :disgust |

But we won't need to move until a few hundred (even thousands) years. We'll be long dead but it's something the human race WILL have to do as the sun gets bigger and bigger and earth warms up. We won't be able to live on earth forever sadly. The first trillonaires will be made out of the space market, that's for sure |
If you do not already understand why NASA is important enough to spend money on then no amount of explaining will clarify the subject for you. It does not make someone less intelligent to lack that curiosity but the lack of it definitely impedes their ability to understand the motivation of those of us who strongly desires more exploration.
