Back in the day a lot. Now, not so many.

glowlite 08-15-2012 09:18 PM

Not sure it really matters, maybe though .........

Only 10% of AFFILIATES in this forum do 5K-10K per month.

So consider yourself a normal person, a part of the 90%...

Don't feel bad, dude.

half dozen i would guess...

johnnyloadproductions 08-15-2012 09:55 PM

A few I'm guessing are Brad Mitchell, Kacy (think that's how it's spelled and not sure how much she owns of certified/naked hosting) I know have to be millionaires.
I can't recall his screen handle but the guy with the white lambo and girl in thong on the front (from wisconsin).
Of course some of the CCbill people (hundreds of millions, and maybe one of the few billionaires).
The thing the internet has done is bridged people of all walks almost instantly. It used to be if you didn't play the right cards all the way down the line you were fucked, not anymore.

I personally don't have a lot, take care of myself and a little more. I've got an uncle that runs a machine shop that makes very high precision parts who has a networth of about $10-15 million (made a killing on the recent stock market rebound), funny thing he is still tighter than hell and a dickwad on many matters (like an answering machine that works sometimes, not really sure yet won't invest in a working one). An uncle that's a jew (not blood) that has a few million, lost a lot in the economic collapse.
My dad has a networth of about 1.5-2 million but he's over 60 (not very good actually). He's looking to me as an investment.

Yes, money matters. Money buys things, makes things happen, buys things that make others like you and want to be around you.
You can argue that character and other items matter, which they do, but at the end of the day there is much disdain for anyone who can't provide for themselves or have much to show for.
This is just the way things are.

I personally aspire to a networth somewhere in the $2-5 million range in the next 10 years, an attainable goal. I've got the intelligence but for lack of a routine and structure it's no good. Also through my late teens and early 20's I had some severe head trauma that induced severe mood swings and many other problems. Always wear a helmet and avoid sports that have high potential for head trauma :winkwink:

Most of the ones I've dealt with from here lurk and/or rarely post.

There really isn't much to gain from posting a lot of the time. Some might even use fake nicks to save face for stupid questions etc.

bean-aid 08-15-2012 10:07 PM

I think there are some. I wouldn't have created a thread looking for investors for a brewery which is about to explode and needs funding on this forum if I thought it was read by all deaf ears.

johnnyloadproductions 08-15-2012 10:17 PM

I left some off the list but they probably don't want to be mentioned anyway. Like anything there is a certain point of making money where people just STFU about it. My uncle has never said how much he explicitly has but when visiting him 4 summers ago and working in his machine shop he bragged about his $200k boat in the backyard and told me "Now don't gossip about this at work or all the workers will be hitting me up for more money." The Audi's and BMW's lend credibility too, affluent but not egregious about it.

There's a screen name on here who only has 5 posts that i know that helped build disney's Epcot and had a salary of $3 million a year. That's just hearsay but he does have some credibility from the possessions he has.

Anyway, you don't make money posting on forums all day (like I am at the moment). It may increase your respect in others eyes' by saying intelligent things (or backfire). There comes a point where the return on abstract and tangible things hits it's limit though.

garce 08-15-2012 10:19 PM

Does this include internet millionaires who fucked up and lost their millions and are now "content" to just post random shit?

Just curious.

Paul Markham 08-15-2012 11:33 PM

So many here thinking it's cool to know a few. Meaning they once got a free drink from one. Idiots.

jimmycooper 08-16-2012 01:44 AM

I know of an avid internet user who has had slightly over $1MM of mainly family money tied up in a federal tax lien since early February.

SomeCreep 08-16-2012 01:49 AM

Less than before.

Sabby 08-16-2012 01:51 AM

define "made millions"... the internet has been around a long time now... did you make millions... or keep millions?

Agreed. Money *is* good, but not by and of itself, and for totally different reasons than the ones in that statement. Makes people like you? Wtf lol - it makes *some* people like you, with those someones being the exact someone's you should steer clear of. And that's just 1 part of what was wrong with the statement.

That's more of a USA thing, not too common elsewhere :2 cents:

wehateporn 08-16-2012 04:07 AM

johnnyloadproductions,

Back in my university (UK) days there was a millionaire on the course, he had all kind of flash cars and motorbikes. The ladies loved him, but the guys hated him. He couldn't understand why he was hated, as he was genuinely a nice guy, modest personality etc.
