Fletch, that sounds true to me, and so like other situations I have witnessed. I personally believe you, and I'm glad to learn that the ex-wife's allegations are not true.
Thank you for coming forward. . |
That's so fucking sad.

People need to actually read a thread now before commenting. Thanks.

Thank you all....
I thank you all for your replies and for believing in me. It means a lot coming from my community. I've been around a long time and the most important thing to me is my rep. I've always been straight up and honest and if I ever made a mistake I did my best to try to fix it. Todd and I were very much the same kind of people in this respect.
Although I have kept the donation site and FB page up there has been no donations received for months and months. I was going to give it a full year and then take it down. That and the fact that Todd's girls seem to gravitate to the FB page and leave little notes for Todd still. However, under the current circumstances of those using the site as their "soapbox" I will be taking everything down soon. I feel I just have no choice and will be best for all. Again....I thank you all. Sarah especially you. Sorry you inadvertently got caught in the middle of all this. You're a great friend. Let me also say that Forest's Christmas time project to help kids was restarted last year in part in Todd's memory. Please do not let these recent events tarnish in any way what Forest is trying to do. His is a good program that should be supported every year. Fletch (old school Fletch) |
This right here is why I learned years ago to reserve comment until all the facts are in before levelling judgement on someone.
Of course, all the "what a scumbag" comments aren't exactly bad, only in that whenever someone does pull a scam like what was described in the first post they absolutely do deserve such comments, and more. That's just not the case here. @nickatilynx -- I can think of at least half a dozen donation threads posted here over the years that later turned out to be scams. As it turns out this is one of the few worthy ones, but you're in error to suggest that this "one lone thread shouldn't off-put anyone from donating", because there've been far more than just one. I'll donate (and have donated many times) directly to the red cross, kids charities, the local animal shelter, etc, but my days of sending money to someone's paypal account for some supposed "cause" are long done thanks to those who posted such scams in the past. Sorry if that bothers anyone. |
Lesson here is before making a drama thread on gfy off something taken on the internet make sure to do homework.
I am glad that I actually put "Is it's true" in my comment and kudos to Rick to come here and give an explanation although there is clearly NO winner here. |

its easy to want to believe the family over others though i didn't know she was an ex. when i saw her terrible spelling i had a bad feeling that she was a welfare case or drug addict. i think not only the bad economy but previous donation scams on the board has ruined anything real. its great to see people taking care of their friends when their family either can't or doesn't care.

Fletch, thank you for coming forward. I apologize for not reserving judgement. You are a good man for looking after his girls.

So glad it wasn't true.
The one thing that seemed odd was it was only the ex-wife saying something and not any of the kids who had previously posted. |
Is this the [email protected] guy?
He used to send checks to affiliates for me back in 2007. Doesn't seem like a guy that would do something like this. I trusted him with a lot of money and never had any issues. |

So the ex wife is all bent she didn't get the $3400 in donations after fletch dropped $12,000 on Todd's funeral? If true, there's some ungrateful MFers out there.
