Another good one. If you want alien invasion sci-fi Monsters. low budget think the budget was 17k but the FX are good. I watched it again recently and enjoyed it just as much the second time. They adlib so the acting is a little off. But I found the story compelling. Reporter is given the job to bring his bosses daughter back to the US after aliens invade Mexico.

Yeah, Forbin Project is excellent, with intelligent characters and themes. I love older films about, or that depict, early computers or technology. I think Tron is actually pretty good in that respect too, perhaps due to the involvement of Alan Kay.

Logans Run! Loved this one too. Saw it 14 times. The effects are cheesy by today's standards but it doesn't really matter and somehow makes the movie even better.
I agree. Even aside from the effects, it's a very 70s looking film, but that's part of its charm, and the style seems to suit the 'idyllic', hedonistic society where it's set.

Looper (2012) - In the Top 250 on IMDB
Chronicle (2012) - Great film for a $12,000,000 budget!
Source Code (2011)

It's very hard to get a good Sci-Fi film , so few of them are made :disgust

All those above are worth watching because they are excellent
