not sure here everyone knows, but wordpress will automatically approve comments if the spammer knows the user and email that is posting the comment, same with the admin account if they know the email address, it will auto post.

the good old http://prettylinkpro.com/ is still the best and worth the money!

If you have a blog where you need comments open and you're fighting high volumes of comment spam robots, you may find this useful:

NoSpamNX

There are a ton of different anti-comment-spam approaches and this one is not the sole solution, but it does cut down volume enormously. I have a blog where this plugin alone has blocked half a million spam comments since August of 2010 when I installed it.

Whats a good comment spam plugin? I was using bad behavior but its not stopping these guys. Spam free seems to require license key and the cart isnt working
