I keep hearing all the news channels say over and over that no Republican has ever won the White House without Ohio.

Doesn't the same hold true for Democrat presidents? If a Republican always wins the white house if they win Ohio...then doesn't that mean that a Democrat always wins it if they win Ohio?

Nope. Democrats may and probably have won without Ohio. Just look at todays election - even if Ohio would go red democrats would still win.
