Yep, with the exception of 3rd world countries the US is 2nd in gun deaths per capita, South Africa, the country with the most liberal gun laws is first. |

Guns are here to stay.
Yup, and so are mass shootings. Meanwhile gun manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank. |

This has the makings to be one of the worst shootings ever. Hopefully it will be a game changer for gun control (as sad as that may sound).

Slavery was cool 200 years ago too, so why change

There will always be massacres regardless of gun laws or the use of guns.

US Army and terrorists groups they are supporting, training and arming are killing kids worldwide every day.

"A knife-wielding man slashed 22 children and an adult at an elementary school in central China on Friday, state media reported, the latest in a series of attacks on schoolchildren in the country."
You think guns are the problem? People are the problem. If everyone had guns, these people would be stopped a lot sooner. An armed citizen is a safer citizen. |

Comparing the world's leading nation to Mexico where a near-total collapse of government authority and corruption makes any law irrelevant. by your logic we should also scrape land property laws as they don't work in Zimbabwe. |
March 13, 1996 : Dunblane massacre. Unemployed former shopkeeper and Scout leader Thomas Hamilton walked into Dunblane Primary School armed with two 9 mm pistols and two .357 Magnum revolvers. He killed sixteen small children and a teacher. The subsequent police investigation revealed that Hamilton had loaded the magazines for his Browning with an alternating combination of fully metal jacketed and hollow point ammunition. This event led to the banning of handguns in the UK.

This is all conjecture though and I'm well aware that may NOT happen if guns are illegal here, but I don't think anyone really knows. We keep comparing countries with more strict gun laws with lower crime, but they are not the US and don't have our culture. It's our culture that is fucking us most. These shootings happen here most of all IMO because this is a culture that is producing more and more crazy people as time goes on and we're simply fortunate that such a tiny percentage of them have been getting guns and doing this kind of shit. |

I have a daughter in kindergarten, and another starting next year, parents, teachers, volunteers, support workers, and numerous other people walk in and out everyday, there is no kindergarten metal detector, so this guy could walk in past the office and walk right into the classroom. So lets say Teachers were all armed, well if they were, this guy would certainly know that and so would the rest of us. when he walks in the teacher is not going to immediately notice he walked in over the sound of 20 5 year olds, drop what he is doing, un-holster his pistol and pop the dude in the head, at the most he would have said "can I help you". Bang, the dude shoots the teacher, so how much good did the gun do? all it did was give this nut job a second gun so he could shoot more people. at the root of this, I 100% agree with you, people are the problem, parents have been failing seriously for decades, raising mental midgets that have no idea how to live in a normal society, but you can't ban people, you can't put them in jail till they actually do something wrong, and if that something is shooting 27 people, then you are too late. You can however make the sale and distribution of automatic weapons that have no place in society illegal, you can make possessing an automatic weapon akin to attempted murder, a crime serious enough to actually deter people from breaking it. I don't think peoples right to bear arms should be taken away, I just think the definition of that right which many of you live by is ridiculous. I am pretty sure when that document was drafted 1) there was no Meijer to buy steaks and chicken breasts at, 2) AK's, AR's m16's and uzi's didn't exist. 3) please send me a link to the story where someone shot 22 kids with a muzzle loader. |
is it this guy?
