My local pool is full of seniors. Lots of them are Dutch women, who seem to enjoy staying fit for their entire lifespan. There are a pair of 60-ish women who regularly lap me. And one old beer-belly guy who passes me with a floatie between his legs.

The kids I don't mind so much because they're ... kids. :) Just like the little jerks who skate circles around me at the ice rink :)

Swam with hot Ozzie girl today. Very motivational. 2.5km Ocean swim today in 58 minutes, going for nap now.

I have been lazy these last days, who is still swimming?

Captain Kawaii 03-11-2013 03:12 AM

Love swimming. Every chance I get. For fun, in the Pacific.

JamesM 03-11-2013 06:49 AM

love swimming, but its been 2-3 years....
thinking about getting pool built by house.

Swimming is for amateurs.

Here in Niagara Falls our watersports are more extreme. :winkwink:

Love swimming and have been getting back into the pool lately. I usually go for a 1/2 mile. It can get so addicting. I do have to mix it up though and use swim fins, floaty between legs, hand paddles, etc...

JAPhoto 03-11-2013 01:13 PM

Definitely. I was the only one strong enough on my high school team to pull off the butterfly. For the life of me I still don't know how people do that stroke gracefully.

btw how many time do you need to swim 50 m (your maximum speed)

Heath 03-11-2013 03:20 PM

I loved swimming back when I had the opportunity to go every day. I was a life guard for a while. Thought it would be much better than it actually was though. Turned out to be boring as hell, especially when I worked in the city and people who couldn't swim jumped in the deep end.

MaxCandy 05-31-2013 05:18 AM

I have been such a lazy fucker, swimming once a week now.

adamneve 05-31-2013 05:59 AM

I hear that, funny thing is the busier i am, the more i need to swim to keep stamina. Getting older sucks

d-null 05-31-2013 07:54 AM

the thought of the water in public pools and all the nasty people not taking sufficient showers before going in it grosses me out :2 cents:

most ear infections come from people not using proper hygiene themselves, not from swimming in public pools..
