the thing i don't like about weddings is that they are women centric 'look at me' spectacles.

It's a big deal for your partner. Even if she assures you it isn't. Trust me 100% on this. And *never* show your aloofness towards marriage, that crushes women inside, even if they don't show it. Been there, made those mistakes. 2 of the biggest and deepest regrets I have :2 cents:

lol couldn't agree more, but what the bride gets out of it, you couldn't buy for a billion dollars, and that's what counts :thumbsup

Woman will choose whats best for them. So you just simply be the better person and let her handle it. If youre not the better person, sorry bro on to the next

As they well should be, they do most of the work and take on all the stresses that go along with it, do you really grudge them their big day? I certainly don't grudge my wife to be anything, she can have whatever she wants, she deserves it having to put up with me every day of her life :winkwink:

The only reason she wants it is because society has told her that's what she is supposed to want. Every little girl is programmed to dream about her 'big day' long before she meets the guy she'll marry. I am not religious so other than her taking my name, i see little point in it. I've always said I'd get married tomorrow if she wanted, I am not just keen on spending 20k or whatever for something that religious folks made up to assign ownership of women.

The 'why' they want a wedding etc isn't important, it's the fact that they do. And they want you to WANT to marry them, and take an interest in the occasion etc. Women are just wired differently to men.

It'll take a while, but keep her well stocked in chocolate.
