Why he pulled out a loaded gun and put it on a bed while showing off his guns makes no sense, that and having a 4 year old running around, clearly not a safe family.

mineistaken 04-09-2013 03:46 PM

I do not understand this logic "guns don't kill, people do". As if people would kill as many people if they did not have guns. Like with bare hands or something.

Yes... and we should be able to extrapolate that argument to machine guns, and nuclear weapons, tanks, fighter jets, military cannons, rocket launchers, etc.

But those are illegal for citizen use. Why?

And this argument is a funny one too... "if laws forbid guns, only outlaws will have them". Laws forbid us from owning machine guns, and how often do you hear about machine guns being used in crimes?

Clearly laws restricting their LEGAL use also impacts their ILLEGAL use. :2 cents:

Or how about this argument... "if we outlaw guns, the black market will EXPLODE!" If that were the case, Uzi's and Mac 10's would be much more popular. But again, I've never heard of them being used in the commission of a crime.

I'm pretty sure no 4 year old has managed to kill anyone with a swimming pool.

Besides that just because people drive drunk and not crash, means we should just legalize drunk driving. I mean hey it's not my fault that some irresponsible idiots can't drive drunk, so why are my rights violated.. Am I right?

If this happened every day it would be something to worry about. But it didn't.

There are much worse things to worry about than legal gun owners and accidents, such as criminals and crazy people with guns. And since Pandora's box can't be closed, guns are not going away, so deal with it or keep crying about it. It won't make a difference either way.

ahh no, should not be possible in houses these days :2 cents:

I think the most horrific part abotu this story is that this kid is going to grow up to realise they killed someone as a child - a mother / sister / wife / daughter....

Not true, why just the other day I blatantly pointed a gun at the hired Mexican I picked up at Lowes, told him to get into my truck drove him to my place of residence where he promptly cleaned my pool and floor.

None of that would have been possible with the help of Smith & Wesson.

Sad story. Stuff like that can happen in the blink of an eye.

In fact, she should have done it preemtively .... as her safety was threatned by being so near a kid...
Also, there could have been a mentally ill person in the crowd, so while at it, she should have killed all for her safety.
This is why 100 rounds should not be banned , as she has the 2nd amendment right to defend herself ...

Wonder what type of gun it was.

And having a loaded gun without the safety on seems a bit off.

Not to mention that a four year old was able to pick it up and pull the trigger. I'm not saying that it's impossible but there are some questions there.

dynastoned 04-09-2013 09:23 PM

51 canadians complaining about shit that has nothing to do with them. worry about your hockey games & maple syrup supply or whatever it is you morons have going on. we have more important things to worry about like freedom and shit.

of all things that's what you find to be strange? i know a ton of people that keep loaded firearms in bedrooms.

you don't know people who keep guns under their bed or in their closet or something? honestly most people don't own gun safes and if they are going to keep guns anywhere it's going to be in their bedroom somewhere.

dynastoned 04-09-2013 10:19 PM

franck aren't you like an entire ocean away? like france or italy something? what the fuck business do you even have speaking about guns in america? i'm sure your country is PERFECT am I right? LOL

if we want to accidentally or intentionally kill people with firearms occasionally then that's an american problem. quit shitting on our parade because you're hopeless and bored with your fleshlight...

your incessant negative commentary has become annoying at the very least. i rarely even come around and i've noticed it. i'm sure everyone is tired of reading posts by you that end with the word "idiot" as if you are someone of consequence.

have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up already.

Robbie 04-09-2013 10:39 PM

You idiots do realize that it was a Deputy Sheriff showing off his guns right?
NONE of the gun laws would have applied to him. So this tragedy would have happened no matter if the govt. even actually demanded that all citizens turn in their guns. He's a cop.

Just like NONE of the gun laws are going to apply to gangs or criminals either.

The only way to stop a bad 4yr old with a gun is a good 4yr old with a gun... That's the way that argument works right?

Yeah!

Dirty F 04-09-2013 11:21 PM

Funny when you think about it how extremely dumb all these standard arguments the gun nutters come up with in every thread are

They actually don't have a clue what they are saying. They don't think. They just blindly repeat that shit over and over again.

and another one ...

Police said the two boys were playing with a .22-caliber rifle outside the 4-year-old?s home in Toms River, N.J., when around 7:00 p.m. the gun discharged and struck the 6-year-old in the head, NBCNewYork.com reported.
The 4-year-old's parents reportedly heard the shot and called 911.
According to NBCNewYork.com, the 6-year-old was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where he later died. An investigation is ongoing.

Responsible gun owners. Irresponsible gun owners are the real problem.
Who that might be, i don't know. Because i NEVER met anyone who said he is a irresponsible gun owner.

My point, is that if every accidental death were reported on national news sources, then the list of things that people would be screaming to be banned would be endless. Pool drownings and poison from cleaning products aren't sexy news, so it doesn't get reported nationally. If it was, there would be a daily list of stories of drowning and poisoned kids filling every news report all day, and I guarantee that you would have masses of people demanding that congress "take action", and there would be special hearings about it, and the parents of the dead children on talk shows, and new laws being passed all over the country. Perception always rules over facts.

Yup, 9 out of 10 people think they drive better than other people.
That statement is in conflict with itself :)

- Jesus Christ - 04-10-2013 06:50 AM

There is no such thing as a "gun ban".

People supporting "gun bans" are actually saying they only want GOVERNMENTS to have weapons... and we all know how well consolidation of power works out...

alex.missyouth 04-10-2013 06:56 AM

Wherever there's a gun, there's undoubtedly more chances of getting shot.

Except in the civil world, police don't take their fucking guns home and stick them in a bedside table. They are kept locked at the police stations.

Do SWAT team members take their weapons home with them? Don't think so, try again!

the things you mention may not get the same attention but they do get reported and laws and practices are put in place to prevent future incidents. laws like requiring a fence around a pool and child proof caps/bottles.

This kind of logic, or actually lack of is called an informal logical fallacy. In particular, Missing the point (irrelevant thesis, ignoratio elenchi, irrelevant conclusion, ignoring the issue, befogging the issue, diversion, red herring, etc.).

Yes some people still think they are making excellent points of discussion. Pools kill more kids than guns, should we ban pools too? Fucking retards.

the gun issue is getting out of hand, someone needs to make the first move. The criminals are unreasonable in disarming, so I think the police should be the ones to act. Disarm all cops, the rest of America will follow suit soon after.
