Looks nice, but 200k, damn that is lots of money!
|
I don't know who's worse, the dumbass who expects people to believe he paid 200k for a 10k fountain that you fill with a water hose or the kids sucking his cock over it.
Oh, but its so impressive the Governor is going to visit the plant. :1orglaugh |

Yeah, sorry Minte, at second glance, that is a shitty fountain for 200k. You really got butt fucked on that one.

i propose a new gfy rule, from now on, all gfy fountain threads shall have in the title, the intro:
by request, not bragging..[insert specific fountain topic here] that has seemed to work well in the past with cars, sneakers, butt plugs, etc., et al |

As it stands now I really hope the bottom of that fountain has some kind of sealant work done, because I can see expansion joints in the bottom, which later will lead to cracks and crumbling concrete. Also curious about the deck is that poured concrete or cooldeck? |

It's true what they say. You can't buy taste. :2 cents: |

You have a licensed designer on staff to do the renderings for the planning commission presentations. He also had to be at two city council meetings. And then you have a landscape designer to do renderings and presentations at the same meetings. And of course you have a licensed engineer to work with the building inspector to get the building permit. Keep in mind there was no power or water at the site. The water wasn't a huge problem. They had to tunnel about 100' to get to a place in the factory where there was water. The pump is 7.5hp 220v Price that out and then add the disconnects at both ends of nearly 400ft between where there was adequate power in the plant. Now add in the cost of the custom stainless manifold. The area is low, there was groundwater with 2' of the surface. I can take pictures of the mountain of material they had to remove. It's all still sitting behind the plant. We had 3 separate companies that specialize in all the areas required to complete a commercial project like this quote the project. You would've lost your ass on this project.. bigtime. |

He didn't just buy the water feature, he bought the WHOLE picture...Damn you guys can be assholes at times.....He is one of the good guys, let's try and remember this. And for the record, me and Minte have never had any business, different corners, just enjoyed his posts ever since I signed on to the net. |

I am not trying to piss on your parade or downplay your fountain. The fountain looks nice, btw. But as someone that started pushing wheelbarrows and humping concrete and stone with my pops and uncle, when most kids were playing with friends. I honestly do think you overpaid. I just got tired of sore back, raspberrys/concrete burns, busted knuckles, working at the pace of the concrete. Just my 2c for whats it worth. |

Before they even could start the fountain, they had 2 men for 2 full days with a bobcat and a dumptruck remove 40 year old yews that filled the 72' diameter circle. |

It cost 75k to build, and 125k to remove Hoffa's body and "Fuhgeddaboudit!"

And yes, they did a lot of concrete work. Even a portion of the sidewalk around the circle drive was old and beat up. They replaced that also. I stood around from time to time and watched, took some pictures and wrote out the checks. |

Sounds like you did a nice exterior facelift on your factory grounds and that's great. Wasn't trying to be a dick but something just didn't make sense. Take care man. . |

I would upgrade the center with a large industrial inspired artsy object with water running down over it. You could potentially make it yourself.

Wow very nice, how about a pic of it at night?
