well many people think this is wrong.
so wrong that they posted the cops name and address phones online
and so many people visiting the sites listed thhat they are being pushed down.

I suspect it was bullshit them bothering the guy in the first place (he was acting like a jackass for sure), but I don't see it as wrong shooting the dog once it started attacking them. If you know anything about dogs, you know it was about to go ape shit. I find it a bit hard to put the entire situation into context as right or wrong because of that.

I kind of wish the dog took off part of the officer's arm before he got shot and maimed him for life.

The owner had the dog poorly trained so I also agree this falls in the owner's lap, but the cop didn't need to shoot the dog either. All these years and modern technological advances and the best thing the LAPD can come up with to subdue a dog is a bullet? Weak.

I see this is already floating around on Facebook and some people are bitching loudly. I have a dog myself, but when police stage a raid or there is a hostage situation and you have a dozen cops walking around with assault rifles and they say "leave the area" you don't linger and take video.

once the dog came out of the car....i am fine with them shooting him that part is solely on the dog owner.

however preceding that, they chose to get involved and engage with him.
they are cops..on public duty....smile for the camera.
someone is filming you? should be no problem with that as you are following the law as a public servant.

This is a societal problem though, not the issue with any particular cop. They are being pushed into this type of behaviour because of many factors.

From what I have seen on various social media posts, there is another video that shows more than what was shown in this video. The guy was getting in the way of a hostage situation and had been instructed to leave. Instead he rolled all his windows down, turned up the music in the car and started harassing the cops, not just videoing them. They have a serious situation they are dealing with and they don't need some punk inciting others or interfering in their duties to the rest of us. :2 cents:

Look, I have a dog. I have two fucking dogs I guess. When the video started I was wondering WTF these cops were going to do because everyone was so outraged. I guess I was expecting to see a cop just come up and shoot it. When the cop first approached the guy I got worried.

Even the narrators are laughing at what an idiot the guy is being. When he put the dog in the car I could see all the windows were all the way down and thought, "there is no way that is keeping the dog secured." When the cops approached and the dog started barking I knew it was too late, the dog was coming out. The dog struck twice; I thought it had been tazed, but I am not going back to watch it, you can. When it made the second strike the cop did what he had to do. I would not want it coming after me either; I would use whatever was most efficient.

To those that think a baton to the dog's face have never been in a fight with a dog; they do not have predictable moves like a human does. You could get hurt pretty bad trying to hit a rott hard enough to make him give up trying to help his owner.

I been attacked and bitten by dogs before but most of them are harmless. They take one little bite and run off. All you really need is a baton or something to hit them once if necessary. Or even a fucking taser. But 4 shots from a gun? Seems like that cop is on a power trip. Sad to see. If you like animals, you don't really give a fuck if you get bit as long as you don't get rabies. all they had to do is tell the owner to calm his dog down. but they did it the wrong way and killed something that was innocent. in a really bad way...

Not going to watch that - I can watch humans being shot all day and not blink - I can't watch it happen to a dog though...

I am the same with vets - I used to be a nurse and worked in trauma - I have seen things that would turn your hair white - Can't even watch vet programs on the TV.....

I always wanted to be a vet when I was younger.

But to be honest I couldn't deal with it every day, and probably wouldn't sleep most nights.

Do you know how they trained for such situations? I don't. I saw doc movie about 3 shoots is hear area on humans, but don't know how police should treat animal attacks.

Don't cops carry billy clubs or batons anymore? The last time I remember seeing a cop use a baton was Rodney King. Seems a lot of these situations could be handled safer with a few clubs to the head instead of instantly reaching for a gun.
