Would anyone know where I can get a copy the fast version of the song “MEMORIES” recorded in the 80’s, if my memory serves me correct it would be around 1984?

I have searched high and low for that song but for some reason it doesn’t seem to as much as exist anymore yet I am absolutely positive of what I’m saying, it was popular when the song What a Feeling by Irene Cara was a hit.

I distinctly recall radio station DJ”s commenting of all the slow versions made of this song (Barbra Streisand’s version being the most popular)
this fast version has made it higher in the charts than them all.

If I’m not mistaken I believe it actually was number 1 on the charts for short time.

On August 1, 1981, the world was introduced to Music Television.

While released as a single in 1979 this was the first video played on MTV:

How old were you in 1981? My youngest child was about a month old when this played on MTV for the first time.

Must post this in response to the Yahoo article I read about all the "jaw-dropping" moments at the MTV Video Music Awards. OK, it was the Grammies, but this was 30 years ago, kids. You know NOTHING about jaw-dropping surprise performances these days. You're just cheap late-night Cinemax softcore and meaningless feel-good charity product placement now. Twerps.

random fact: One half of the Buggles is Trevor Horn who became later one of the most successful music producers ever - like for example with Frankie goes to Hollywood

I went to one of her concerts at Wembley back in around '89 - She came on with long black hair and a cello - Nobody knew it was her and this 'strange' women started playing - She started playing 'Sweet Dreams' and it was amazing when everyone realised it was her...

You'd get along with my buddy Scott then. Saw them at Navy Pier and then like a week later they were playing some fest out in the west suburbs of Chicago. Conversation was basically my buddy telling them all the places he's seen them play at and some of them they struggled to remember. They were cool though and hung out with us and didn't run away. :1orglaugh
