I think what is painfully obvious in this thread alone is that anything can get boring with regards to weather or even a city.. I was completely burned out from being in the toronto area. I still have all my family there and visit as often as i can, but I really wouldn't want to live there again. If you have nothing but palm trees and hot weather are you going to vacation to something identical? of course not, you want to see something different no matter where you live or spend the majority of your time. Snow and winter get a bad wrap anyway, if you dress appropriately it can be just as fun. One down side? bike has to stay in the garage until spring...

I'd love to live down south or possibly on an island, but I cant leave my parents behind. They'd be devastated that I left with their granddaughters.

I should have never got married and just ran towards the warmth by myself! I cannot friggen stand this cold, shitty weather. I hate hate hate it!

Sunny warm weather the whole year around would just become very boring i think...

I also love my annual autumn depression :1orglaugh

I like the change of seasons too.

Fall is less intense, but the trees still change colors and it's pretty. Winters here are short, but always without the hassle of snow. Spring comes early. And summers rock.

3) We don't have room for everyone here; please don't encourage them

What is the lousy season?

At summer I fish (and some hunting), at autumn I hunt, at winter I do ice fishing and hunting, at spring I do hunting and fishing. To be exact, different kinds of hunting and fishing during different seasons. No lousy seasons; just different seasons.

Of course if your only hobby is golfing or sipping drinks at beach, that can be tad hard at winter.

Obviously it must be a good combination of an exciting city, family, friends and good weather to make it right. :thumbsup

I just can't imagine why anyone would willing choose the later. And yes, these were taken the same day.

I have lived in Manhattan for the better part of the past 15 years. I've also lived in San Francisco, Houston, Austin, and Prague. Have also spent a summer in France.

Even though sometimes I really fucking hate it here for a number of reasons, there is just such a wide variety of things to do here that I get bored as fuck whenever spending more than a week or two in any other US or Canadian city. The only other places on this continent where I would ever even consider living are Montreal and LA. Every few years or so, when the city starts getting to me, I weigh the pros/cons of those two cities versus the pros/cons of living here, and Manhattan comes out ahead every time. It would probably be different if I lived in one of the outer boroughs or Long Island or god forbid New Jersey, but when comparing to Manhattan, no other place really even comes close.

Granted the weather isn't the best in the world, but I really don't care because I'm not really into outdoorsy type stuff and the weather is easy to ignore because there are so many great things to do indoors.

Not sure why Mitch.

I'm like you, I need warm weather.

It's kind of cold today though, a high of 90 and a low of a chilly 75 here in Bangkok, lol

In the end it is all about what you enjoy. I love living where I live because we have four seasons and the winters are cold, we get a handful of snow days, but they are otherwise pretty mild.

On the same note, I can't imagine why anyone would want to live in Los Angeles. I lived there for a few years and I hated every second of it. Horrible traffic, people everywhere you go. Every little thing you try to do becomes an event and you often have to plan your day around the traffic or be willing to sit on a freeway for hours.

I suppose it would be okay if you were wealthy and could just stay in your little community, but trying to exist in that city like a regular person is hellish. . . yet millions do it and many of them do it by choice.

Because weather simply isn't the number one priority for me and most likely many others.

In Europe it's also the northern states that offer some of the best living standard and conditions all around.

Perhaps also since nobody can just take a siesta until maņana and eat a banana if they don't make enough to bring home the bacon.

Traffic and having to drive everywhere is the major reason why I have never moved to LA. Living in Manhattan, I don't need a car or even want a car. Seems like a major pain in the ass. I can get to pretty much anywhere I need to go in the city (well, at least the places I go) within 15-20 minutes door to door.

I love Manhattan as well and would certainly live there if the weather was more pleasant.

You could even post two pics, where you can't see shit in the other picture: one about night and one about day. And yes, bot during the same day. :)

There are some mostly sunny places, but most places have seasons. In here it is winter and in Australia it is summer; at the same day. Whoaa.. They teach this stuff at kindergarten or something like that.
