It's like the carnival hall of mirrors ... But I disagree. Surprised? :1orglaugh People are dumb as dirt as they buy this bullshit time after time ... This is just a new ruder flavor -- the story line is not a new one :2 cents: In fact if you remember George C. Wallace in '68 replace segregationist with anti-immigration it's not that different really. The same appeal to basically the same segment of the voters. That time Republican and right leaning voters in Wallace's run -- Wallace took the the Dixiecrat voter (Southern Democrat) and a certain element of the Republican voters in the general election. The best part, is the issues Trump is using are the same dumb issues Republicans have used every election in my recent memory.. illegals and a Mexican wall. In fact I've stated many times here on GFY, that soon as elections come rolling around illegals and a Mexican wall will be the big issue.. It's like clock work and here we are, the right is eating up the same spoon fed garbage just like they they always do but this time "it's diffrent". Trump understands exactly how dumb peopl are and he's feeding them the biggest line of shit while they happily eat it up. |
again, jim webb is my guy.
that doesn't mean i can't embrace the facts of who is supporting Trump and why. it's easy to blow it off as - oh, stupid people. but i'm smarter than that. |

i never stated Trump is ridiculous candidate, in fact, i've pointed out from the beginning that it's a mistake to think that. but you're prone to mistakes like that.

Meanwhile, in the real world...The other Republican candidates are looking at what Trump is actually proposing and proclaiming he's more Democrat than Republican and is not a "conservative". The Koch Brothers are 100% against him. Fox News is against him. The Republican National Committee is against him. Your endless attacks are completely off course. You seem to be cheering for Jeb Bush and for "business as usual". Is that really what you want Crockett? More of the same? Just answer that simple question. Do you want things to continue in Washington D.C. as they are going now? More debt? More spying? More wars? Not saying that Trump wouldn't double down on any of that...but I'm absolutely CERTAIN that both Jeb and Hillary would definitely double down on it. Why can't you grasp that what Trump represents is an IDEA. An idea that we are tired of politicians and their lies? It's not Trump himself that people are drawn to. It's the idea that this country needs an enema. Understand? Or do you insist on continuing to try and tell me what I really think of Trump when I'm telling you plainly what I think? |

The reason the RNC doesnt want Trump is because he is unelectable. No one can win the Presidency on the angry old white vote, McCain and Romney proved that.
And now the clown is going around saying his favorite book is the bible. You guys seriously believe that bullshit? I'd bet he's never read half a page of the bible. He was just on Bloomberg and they asked what were some of his favorite bible quotes, the carnival barker couldn't even come up with just one. Finally said its a personal thing. Goddamn it's hilarious some of the shit people fall for. :1orglaugh |

Ideas don't run countries, people do. trump is a bad idea, no matter how much you hate the other guys... |
The other guys are the ones who got us here. 20$ trillion debt, wiped out middle-class, a poor world image, wars, etc et al.

And please re-read my post. I never said Trump the person is a "great idea". Why can't you comprehend that it's a movement across the country that could help change things? Trump is probably the only guy who could have ignited it...he has the money and doesn't have to answer to anyone. Not saying he is the guy to vote for. If you could only open your eyes just once it would be a miracle. |

The only problem I have with him is that I think his ideas would be bad fiscally for the country. We are already in 18 trillion debt. Not sure if expanding entitlements even more and taxing people even more is the answer. But that's just my opinion. You've made a good choice based on what you believe. :) |

Yes, Mark...Bush definitely has us invade other countries under the guise of "fighting terrorism"
A fucking nightmare. And that's what nationalism gets you when it happens. Should have never invaded entire countries. Should have done what Pres. Obama finally did and simply sent a Seal team in to get Bin Laden. Now, look at us. Even though Pres. Obama finally brought the troops out of Iraq...we are being trolled by ISIS to come back in. And for what reason? Well, to hear conservative talk show hosts like Hannity speak...it's to "regain" the ground that was lost. Huh? It's not our ground in the first place. But war hawks are always looking for a fight so that more money can be spent on the military. Which is only one of the reasons I would never vote Trump. But just because I don't agree with him on the military, the wall, etc. does not mean that I can't admire what he is doing to the political process. He is scaring the living hell out of the RNC, the DNC, the media, and all the bureaucrat crooks in Washington DC And THAT is a good thing. No other candidate scares them at all. They would be happy and secure in their little kingdoms with Jeb or Hillary. Nothing would change. |
Just to clarify...when I spoke of Bin Laden, I was of course referring to the invasion of Afghanistan.
In the case of Iraq, we should never have done it. And we should have left Hussein in power. It sounded like a great idea...but it turns out that Hussein was exactly the kind of strongman that was needed to keep groups like Al Queda and now ISIS under control. Huge mistake and indicative of everything that is wrong with "pre-emptive" strikes and invasion of other countries without anyone declaring war. |
Bernie Sanders has some good and bad ideas but they are mapped out in overview. Donald Trump has good sound bytes to only 23% of all voters: Republicans, Independents and a few Democrats -- there is no substance ...
We are spoiled rotten in the USA -- even the poor man expects an automobile and a smartphone -- that is his god-given-right ... I am very disappointed that no candidate is expressing a vision (notwithstanding Saunders). That's because they haven't got any plan. Saunders and his ''let's eat the rich'' plan is ''populist'' but a divisive plan that will not work. Trump's ''wall in the border'' plan may be ''populist'' but it will not work. Hillary and Jeb are party candidates waiting to be spoon-fed a platform by consensus. I am waiting for the ''dark horse'' candidate. These guys are going nowhere (so far). |
Saddam did warn us ... Had the arrogant asshole Saddam mediated the Kuwaiti-Iraqi border oil dispute instead of invading Kuwait we might not be where we are now ...
These Mideastern wars have cost too much with nothing to show. The same became true in Vietnam, Southeast Asia and Indochina. The economic disruption, the deaths and war refugees are very similar. Better that the Arabs control their Islamic extremists -- they have the most to lose :2 cents: |
Sander's positions are easy to know. He's been in political office since 1981. Nothing new there. So we all know what he stands for.
Trump is campaigning in front of live audiences by the way. Bernie Sanders doesn't stand in front of his big crowds talking about the boring minutiae of issues like some droning political wonk. He fires up the crowd. Just like Obama did, just like Clinton did...just like every great orator does. You cover the issues but you don't lay them out in specificity. If you did that on the campaign stump you would quickly find yourself talking to nobody. That's part of the double standard in my opinion...and is being propagated by the media. They didn't demand that Pres. Obama give specifics in the 2008 election...and good thing they didn't. Because if he had put out EXACTLY what he was going to do with ObamaCare, he would never have been elected. Instead he made vague promises of bringing healthcare costs down (and look how that turned out). If you really want to know the details of Trump's plans he supposedly has it in detail in his new book "Time To Get Tough". And he outlines his immigration policy in detail on his website. But being on the campaign trail and boring audiences to sleep with policy wonk talk has NEVER been what any candidate has done. The funny thing is...what Trump is doing is WORKING. And everybody in the media and all the high paid political consultants working for the other (losing) candidates are completely baffled and can't figure it out. If I were Jeb Bush...I'd throw away the teleprompter, grow a set, and then tell all the high paid political experts he has working for him: "You're Fired!" lol |

The biggest rap on Trump and Sanders both, is that they would be unelectable in a general general election.
Thing is, it's within the realm of possibility that both of them could win their party's nomination. Let's say it plays out like that. Then what? |

Matter of fact, I believe I've told you over and over and over again in these threads that I'm NOT voting for Trump. You just can't stop your usual biased opinions. I have only posted about how the media (especially Fox News) and the RNC and every political talking head and consultant are trying to derail Trump and it doesn't work. I, for one, have been shocked at their blatant attempts. It's almost like the media doesn't even try to hide it anymore. They are openly doing everything they can to bring him down. You keep talking about Trump the candidate. I'm talking about Trump changing the entire landscape. No, I'm not voting for Trump. UNLESS he comes out and declares he is anti-war, going to cut the military spending greatly, and put an immediate end to the NSA, the TSA, and the "war on drugs". So please stop trying to deflect the conversation and make it about what I believe. I'm clearly stating what I think. Both Sanders and Trump are not my guys. BUT...they both are scaring the living hell out of the establishment of both the RNC and the DNC. The question I have for you is: Why don't you think that's a good thing? Do you really think the same old business as usual group of lifetime politicians is what the country needs? |

Read, weap, make excuses, deny and then say you didn't like him anyway.. He wants to stop tax loopholes used by rel estate investors as well as close the hedge fund loopholes which allow the extremely rich to pay next to nothing in taxes.. Ie he wants to raise taxes on the rich.. Just like those evil liberals you guys love to whine about. It's going to be amusing watching you guys make excuses to justify this because it's the Jesus Trump.. Also I love how the most vocal Trump supporters keep falling all over themselfs to say they aren't voting for him.. It reminds me of the embarrassed Republicans whim keep saying they aren't Republicans.. |
LOL :P
Trump is a good showman but I don't think he would be a good Presidential candidate. Why not Arnold Schwarzenegger :D |
Jesus...crockett why do you sit back and say the things you say?
You always try to make it personal with your fellow GFYer's instead of sticking to the point. You are insinuating that I and others who are enjoying what Trump is doing are somehow "secret Trump voters". Why in the fuck would anybody do that? If I wanted to vote for Trump I would simply say so with no imagined embarrassment. You act like this is high school or something. I'm a grown man and I don't have any problem telling you exactly what I think. And damned if I haven't done it already over and over...but you pretend that you somehow know what people REALLY think. Get over yourself. Either start discussing the actual subject or just keep quiet and let the grown-ups talk. Your constant deflection from the thread topics to try and make this some kind of imaginary indictment of your peers in the thread is so juvenile. Why would ANYBODY want to try to "fool" you by "pretending" that they aren't voting for someone? Trust me brother...nobody gives a fuck what you think. And nobody is "pretending". It's all in your head. As for the point you bring up before you started insulting everyone...YES! This is exactly what the "conservative" Republicans like Jeb and Fox News have all been saying...Trump is a moderate and more Democrat than Republican according to them. And you keep flip-flopping in your replies. One minute you are accusing him of being extreme right wing...and then the next you are pointing out how moderate his policies really are. You should step back and read your own posts. They are always full of insults and vitriol. Talk about an "angry old white man"...that's you. |

Oh give me a break.. I've lost count of how many times you have done the samething you are doing now.. You try to paint yourself as one thing while acting the other.. How many times have you sat there and claimed myself or Mark for example are stupid.. You do it all the time.. I used to try to talk sensibly with you guys but it was always liberal this, liberal that then how ignorant we are for not believing your fairyland gospel. It's just like this.. You will endlessly bash other polititions which say the samething Trump says.. trump has said many times that the real estate tax and capital gains loop holes should be closed.. When it's Obama saying that or Sanders then it's oh he wants to take money from the rich to give to the poor.. Yet with JesusTrump you guys have completly ignored it.. It just shows you guys don't care about what he wants to do, but rather are just oggly eyed at the fact he acts like a 12yo kid and calls people names.. You guys are falling all over his BS act like a bunch of dateless school girls at the prom. |

And there you go again crockett, not sticking to the topic but trying to make everything about me again.
Give it a rest. Let's talk politics instead of what you think I think. |
