I brought up charging because "hate crime" is a legal term. You said it is not "acknowledged" that this was a hate crime. The only body that can officially and unanimously acknowledge a hate crime is the government. And the government does not charge dead people with crimes.

If you want to general public to acknowledge this as a hate crime good luck with that, because the general public never agrees 100% on anything.

Again, why are you laughing that there is no perception of a hate crime here? No one is stopping you from perceiving a hate crime exists. Ok, imagine situation. Dude starts shouting racial slurs and shoots people of opposite race. Then shoots himself.
We (most of us) would acknowledge that this was a hate crime. You, on the other hand, would come in and say - hey, wait, perp is dead, government did not charge him, so we can not acknowledge.
