I'm realyl enjoying this series :thumbsup |
Its a great show....and at the same time was watching it I was reading Don Winslow "Cartel" the parallels are incredible...set 20 years apart and in different countries but the "history repeats itself" aspect is unreal highly recommend both.

Cool that they take from real life. I remember reading "Blow", George Jung said Escobar wanted to watch "Patton" over and over again. I like those crazy little stories. |
Good to know it's a good show. I'm adding it to my list. :thumbsup

Just found out I like the director's work....his Brazilian movies, not the Robocop reboot.
I need to see this. |

To her, Columbian Spanish sound like strong Australia or New-Zealand's English does. But That being said, it is an excellent series like Netflix does :thumbsup |

Great show. Im in the middle of the war right now.

Saw the whole season in one fucking night. Amazing show.

Watched the first episode Friday night. Looks good so far.

Watching it now, nice way to present the show with the voice over. Linking it to real events is good.
I could never figure out why they didn't just send in the Commandos to assassinate him under cover. It's not like anyone would be surprised if he had turned up dead. |

4/5 stars
Was better than most. He should have just bribed the government and stayed out of politics. His Simon Bolivar identification while being a ''narco'' was lunacy ... |
In most cases, I think VO is unnecessary....but it works for this show because there's just so much to follow. There's no time to get all of the information across in a subtle way, or with subtext or by using character development.
I know that there had to be meeting where the creators said "VO or not?" The choice must have been clear. |

Also his partners were wildly loyal, when his actions were what caused them problems. Life for them would of been easier without a maniac in charge. As powerful as criminals are, they should know attacking the government and law enforcement is a step over the line. Quote:

I just finished the one when Gacha gets killed by a soldier in chopper. Then I looked him up on Wikipedia. It says that it's his son that led them to him and that he committed suicide with a hand grenade. So why oh why they had to make up shit when it's all real people and events? End of the series ("show" lol) for me.

Just finished the series, it's excellent!

It's amazing to me that these great Netflix shows fly under everyone's radar. I know people who visit Netflix all the time would know about it, but it's not like it was highly publicized. It's a huge production with lots of actors, and it's a period piece to boot. That's expensive.
Netflix has so much money they can throw millions of dollars at an artist and say "go make me some good shit". Loving it so far. I read the book Killing Pablo years ago -- which was mainly about the end of his "career", but its great to see how he rose to the top in the early years. |

And the rest is really thin too, not much about smuggling except for that small airplane at the beginning or dealing with their US counterparts. How about hiding piles of cash on daily basis, they were making daily 5+ times what Walter White had in that storage room :upsidedow http://static2.businessinsider.com/i...ney-pile-1.png |
So far it's great, up there with Breaking Bad, Shield and Wire.
Watching Halt and Catch Fire which is good. Just finished watching The Brink, best US comedy for a long time. |
