Private has a market cap of less than half a mill. AFF/Penthouse IPO was a disaster and I believe they were kicked off the exchanges.

I would not invest in any porn company which is publicly traded, although I think many adult companies are still good private investments.

Most funds can't invest in anything adult. Much of this is because the extremely powerful CALPERS pension fund has a policy against adult. If most institutional investors can't buy, then a stock is limited in what multiple it can achieve. Doesn't matter what your strategy is or how awesome the balance sheet and income statement and growth rate are because adult stock is artificially deflated.

Any porn company which chooses to IPO, especially in the US, is just demonstrating that it's leadership doesn't understand the market or thinks the PR is worth the bother.

I honestly don't see any that convince me they'll grow or do better a few years from now. The free model is taking over slowly and while a site may profit from doing that as tubes did, MFC/CB, ... I don't know how long it will last.

Perhaps short term investing would yield a profit.

Lelo would be my top choice.

This is a great question. I'd pickup ManyVids and Chaturbate because of their steady growth. VirtualRealPorn because because its a pioneer in the VR industry and will maintain a competitive edge if they continue to improve their shooting techniques.

I honestly think a lot of you would be very disappointed and would urge better due diligence.

I would find up and coming solo sites. People want original content they can't get on tubes. Something more personal.

Agreed, I get it. I just think most people here would be losing their asses unless they were hedging bets with shorts on many of the "stocks" mentioned thus far so I had to play Devil's Advocate for a second.

If I had to pick a pay site, it would be something like Voyeur Web / redclouds which I see as a blue chip of amateur porn. I see some risk and liability with their model but not as much as I see for the tube sites with their pay sites built with stolen content.

Dating I would go with the breakout Tinder which I think of as a disruptive tech fast growth big potential stock that is steadily turning the dating game inside out.

Billing I guess Epoch would be my pic just for the moves they have made in the last couple years getting Paypal, one click cross sells, etc. I like how lean and clean Netbilling and Rocketgate run but wonder about their growth potential in the declining pay site landscape.

Not really. I intentionally didn't post Homegrown for several reasons. One, if everyone just posts their own company it devolves the thread into a spammy waste of time. Two, the theme of the OP was if companies were public stocks and HGV would be privately held so it would not even list on such an imaginary exchange.
