If I had won the powerball and really was interested in buying it I wouldn't tear it down but I would have to gut it to make it nice again.. Frat houses have huge parties all the time and they devalue the places. Restored in pristine shape I could maybe see that figure.
Old people know who Hef was and what Playboy was and they are the people with money to pay for this. I can see a billionaire picking it up and trying to keep the dream alive for a while.

I cannot imagine how much cash he has blown over the years on bunnies and parties. It staggers the brain.

The Playboy Mansion is not currently for sale. It was sold in 2016 to Daren Metropoulos. Metropoulos purchased the property for $100 million and intended to renovate and restore it. He has since been living next door to the mansion.

While the mansion was previously listed for sale with a price tag of $200 million, the final sale price was $100 million. As part of the sale agreement, Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy, was allowed to remain living in the mansion until his death, which occurred in 2017.

As posted in the bump it sold in 2016 for half the reported asking. 100 mil. Hef died a year later.

I didn't know this story til after watching Secrets...
